Thabarbarian Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks for letting me know. Wish I was going to the phillies game tho...
SweetOne69 Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Thanks for letting me know. Wish I was going to the phillies game tho... I here you. Cliff Lee is starting for the Phillies and Buchholtz for Boston. Of course, most of the potential regulars are starting the home game against boston and the scrubs traveled to play against Philly.

ashbury Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It's still early March but it's time for Benson to go about 3-5 I'd say, hopefully at least one of them against this quality righty. Oh, and Escobar DH'ing. Not that there was any doubt what will decide whether he makes the final cut, but this spells it out plainly.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Looks like the Phillies game is on mlb.tv
drjim Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Oh, and Escobar DH'ing. Not that there was any doubt what will decide whether he makes the final cut, but this spells it out plainly. It was Parmelee but he was a late scratch with a sore groin. Escobar can't hit but he is a very good glove at all three spots. He is an acceptable utility guy.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Saw something interesting today at the minor league complex. Reps are there from Wilson with gloves, and xbats. Buxton took quite awhile and then picked out a bat. The rep had him sign 3x5 cards. Three of them. As he said, the signature gets better every time. Theyll use this signature on his bats.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Escobar can't hit but he is a very good glove at all three spots. He is an acceptable utility guy. My point is that Escobar is not off to a good start at bat, his glove is a given and they apparently would rather watch a veteran like Olmedo in the field than him. They're straining to give Escobar some more live at-bats to prove himself, and DHing him could be a little reminder that his bat is what will decide his fate.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Benson loses a ball in the sun. Sounds like a pretty tough angle out there
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Gibson getting roughed up. He's having trouble with his command, several wild pitches.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Benson nails Napoli at third, BOS scored on the play. 3-0 sox. 2 outs in the 3rd, Thielbar pitching
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Olmeda strikes out looking, Benson strikes out on a curveball. End of 3
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Pedroia bangs a double off the wall. Thielbar still pitching. 4-0 Sox, runners on 2 and 3rd
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Thielbar hits someone in the head. Bases full, 2 outs, Thielbar's done edit: Check that, Thielbar stays in
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 0-2 pitch to Napoli, home run scores 3. Bases weren't full? I can't keep it straight anymore. 8-0 Sox
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Gibson didn't look like he very good stuff today, fastball was all over the place, changeup was good a few times but otherwise pretty iffy. A few bad breaks as well though but he wasn't missing many bats.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Revere thrown out stealing 2nd by Herrmann.
Yoshii Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Trade Gibson for a new/fresh arm imo. Tommy Johns is going to take years of productivity from him. Hes done.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I stepped away and the Twins scored 4 in the bottom of the 4th. 8-4 Boston. .Walters pitching the top of 5
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Uehara shuts down the Twins in bottom of inning. still 8-4
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Walters goes 2 scoreless. Plouffe finishes 6th with an erratic throw to first.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Wow, 3 homers for Hicks on the day!
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Wow, 3 homers for Hicks on the day!He had one yesterday, too, but it was in 'exhibition' so it doesn't count towards his spring training total (derp).
