70charger Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Well that took about two seconds to turn sour...
bighat Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 So Thorpe was the call here, eh? Hmmm.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I have an '84 Fleer Update Kirby Puckett, his official rookie card. My favorite.I also have a '61 Topps Twins Team card, but I cheated and bought that one from a shop. No cheating there. I’ve gotten most of my Oliva cards that way. When my son moves out after getting married next spring, we’ll have our first “office,” and I’m hoping to do something interesting with a display of them.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 7 and 8 hitters tie it up in an instant. inexcusable
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Thorpe didn't look like an MLB caliber arm against Pittsburgh, and hasn't looked like one in a few batters tonight. I do not understand the love for him in rankings
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 For those of you that stepped away, thank you. Now, here's a chance for Thorpe to prove his a big leaguer with a future.Welp.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Yikes, looks like Thorpe is going the way of Gonsalves. Mediocre stuff and poor command is a surefire combination for failure. Doesn't matter how good your minor league numbers are if your stuff is bad.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 hard to expect 5-6 innings out of the bullpen almost every night
wabene Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Thorpe needs to go back to the drawing board
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 At least Rocco got him out of there ASAP.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 well that was an absolute f-ing disaster
70charger Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Welp. Not Thorpe's day. But, as they say in Oz "she'll be right."
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Thorpe didn't look like an MLB caliber arm against Pittsburgh, and hasn't looked like one in a few batters tonight. I do not understand the love for him in rankingsSomeone here ranked him as our #6 prospect this preseason! Thorpe had a good strikeout rate last year in both AAA and MLB, so it is surprising to see him look this bad... at least point you'd have to hope he's hurt and not throwing at 100%.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Figure Odo's done.Who's next?**also my favorite album cover of all time. It’s on first?
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Trade him. Byron's a bum.You misspelled Lewis!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Thorpe needs to go back to the drawing boardyes, he should go host pictionary or something instead
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 oh my god it's only the 4TH inning?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 One of the few times a pitcher was taken out mid-inning.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Lewis Thorpe is awful. There I said it.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 oh my god it's only the 4TH inning? I notice you really loooove these long drawn out games.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 oh my god it's only the 4TH inning? It's OK. In this shortened season, the games are only 5 innings long.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 It's OK. In this shortened season, the games are only 5 innings long. they should only be 7.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 The worm is turning, not a good thing.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I swear Bremer is a Royals fan
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 So many writers and fans were always praising Thorpe's "stuff". I never saw it and I certainly don't now. I don't get the fascination. Plus, did you read that TD article about his massive drop in velocity? Our two biggest contrats this year are not contributing. And so it goes......
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 i'm not big into the analytics or all these new fangled stats, but I don't believe this would be considered a shut down inning
