If you can't trust Thorpe against the 7-8-9 hitters in KC's lineup, two of which are LH hitters, I don't know where you can trust him.

FFS with these passed balls and wild pitches

I just never have liked Garber behind the plate. When he's putting up a .900 OPS, fine. But he's a butcher behind the plate.

It’s becoming an issue

I've been putting off getting a haircut due to the whole Covid thing, but Mrs Chief got tired of looking at me, so I finally went to my favorite barber this afternoon. After the obligatory exchange of "how ya doing"s and "Long time no see!"s he got down to business, which is telling stories.

He told me he had a cop in the other day, and he didn't charge the guy. "Your money is no good here," he said. "You're keeping us all safe."

And my friend the barber said the next morning, he found a dozen doughnuts on his doorstep, from the cop.

A day or so later, the barber told me he gave a priest a free haircut, and sure enough, the next morning there were a dozen bibles on his step.

"Well," my barber said, "wouldn't you know it, in comes a lawyer, and I gave HIM a free hiarcut. "You're doing the work of justice,"" I said.

"Next morning, sure enough....a dozen lawyers waiting for a free haircut."

I give up.

And how did you pay?

Can someone explain why Baldelli is throwing out the bottom of the barrel relievers the last few days? Can’t recall the last time I saw the A team out there.

He's been trying to use his best relievers when he's ahead, and his other relievers when behind, IMO.

And he's had a lot of innings to cover from his pen. He's gotten, what, TWO six innings starts all season? Today, for example, he needed six innings. If Thorpe can't pitch to the bottom of the KC lineup, there's no other place to use him.

He can't just keep running the same four guys out there. I don't blame him for using the guys he has, but let's be honest...the talk of the great and deep pen was a little optimistic, if you ask me.

On the other hand, I don't understand still putting Garber at the top of the lineup, even against a leftie, and Kepler shouldn't be at the top either against a leftie. I also don't like all the days off for his regulars, but I admit it's a pet peave of mine and he did win 101 games last season doing the same thing.

Gordon doesn't run like he used to. LOL Looked like he was pulling a plow going after that Polanco pop fly.

Agreed.

It's been Wisler, Thielbar, Poppen, Thorpe, Smeltzer....where's the beef?

I mean, we'll be 10-5 if we lose this game so I guess it's not the end of the world. But it drives me nuts that Rocco seems to always take his foot off the gas when this team is on a roll.

The Lewis Thorpe's of the world can be used when the score is 12-4. Not in a 2-run game on the road when you're trying to snap a losing skid.
