I'd say there's probably few years where a team would be more confident they'll be in the postseason than this one. There'll be only a month left, and there will be 8 playoff spots available. There won't be many teams that figure they're out of it--KC might be one by then--but there will be teams looking to buy.

I agree. I focused on sellers, but who the hell are the buyers? Knowing that you - as the best team in the league - have a 35-40% chance of losing 2 games in the very first of the 19 rounds of playoffs they now have, why bother trading?

 

With expanded playoffs, it's a race to mediocrity. The "winner" is whoever gets streaky at exactly the right time. If that overlaps with the best team, it'll be totally accidental.

I know Garver and Sano need reps to get back on track, but they've done enough damage being inept at the plate, is it worth penciling them into the lineup? Or could they not be in the 1-5 spots on the lineup?
