MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Unless the bullpen is taxed on Friday/Saturday, I'm guessing they go with Mejia and hope to get 4-5 innings since it's the last game before the break. Sounds like a mail-it-in-before-the-break strategy. It will probably be accompanied by scheduled off days for Kepler, Polanco and Cruz. bighat 1
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 It wasnt just the blister for Odo. He wasnt right from the start. His velo was down, and command was beyond awful. He struggled for the 2 innings before the fourth, it was very obvious he wasnt equipped to pitch last night. That was bad. And as is usually the case, when you leave the starter in too long, you pay for it, and end up not saving the bullpen anyway.
LA_NorthStar Verified Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Thought Mejia's outing was very encouraging. Mid-90s with the fastball, threw his off-speed pitches for strikes. 3.1 innings of one run ball is as good as you can ask for in that situation. Also very encouraged by Sano's last few games at the plate. Whatever Rowson is doing seems to be having an impact.

KFEY93 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 If we dont make any moves to acquire quality starting pitching and BP arms with in the next 3 weeks. This team does not make the play offs. Bank on it. bighat 1

bighat Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Well, 6:45am flight tomorrow says it's time to turn off the game. Hope I miss something good. Go Twins.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Maybe Magill or Morin has a need for a 10 day IL stint? In a weird coincidence they do. They were crossing the street, and someone just hit them with a bright red Dodge that the lady witnesses could only describe as “super sexy,” though it was unclear whether they were referring to car, driver, or both. Thankfully the car is way slower than it looks and both pitchers are expected to make a full recovery.
