Twins: Potential for .500 Record

Oh, the expectations are so much less than they were at the start of the season.  Twins currently 60-65.  With 37 games remaining, the Twins would need to go 21-16 to finish at .500.   Coming up, they have Oakland and the Yankees, who are fighting to get into the playoffs, plus games against the Astros and Cleveland.  The rest are against the dregs of the AL Central and the Rangers.   Overall, it looks like a tough climb for the boys. I'm predicting final record of 77-85.

Those games will show how far off the Twins are from having a decent team. The fan base continues to mention that if we didnt dump of so many players we would be in the thick of things which is far from the truth.

Indeed, the team seems to be playing better than the squad did prior to the trade deadline.

The Twins have been better since they sold, in part because the replacements have been better.  I'm glad we're seeing success from players that represent the possible future.

Coming up, they have Oakland and the Yankees, who are fighting to get into the playoffs,

FWIW, the Yankees have an 8 game lead on a playoff spot right now.

They will likely jockey for wild card home field (only up 3.5 there) but they are not really "fighting to get in" right now.

Of course, the Yankees don't require any special motivation to defeat the Twins either...
