Han Joelo Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Right up to the Kintzler trade, or thereabouts, Rogers was nigh unstoppable. Its a whole new world now without those two stoppers. New cream rising to the top. I happened to check in on the Nats/Astros a couple of nights ago on Gameday. Kintzler had loaded them, with one out. Never checked back to see how it went. One Wild Card team has 3 closers and a relief budget of $50 million per season (I made that up.). The other has Matt Belisle closing. Ahh, baseball.

Shaitan Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I'm not sure it's fair to state that BS stats can be compared specifically to if Kintzler were here. BS can be given to any reliever. SV only goes to the one to finish the game.

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 RogersThanks. Example #6,753,861 of ESPN incompetence. No BS listed in their boxscore.

Rogers has pitched 6 and 2/3 innings since Kintzler was traded, and given up 2 ER. 2.70 ERA, well below his season ERA Let's stop with the blatantly false hyperbole. It's very easy to look these numbers up Edited August 24, 2017 by alarp33

gocgo Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) There was no blown save in last nights game.Oh, that's true because it was tied in the 9th. I'd still like 4 more wins though! Edited August 24, 2017 by gocgo

If that was the case my bad, I thought it was someone trying to blame the trade on Rogers giving up a run last night

gocgo Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 The Save was blown in the 8th inning by Rogers.Yup. Got it. Came in with a 1 run lead and left after pitching a full inning without holding that lead. Didn't take the loss but helped it along....and I still would like 4-5 more wins.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Hasn't it happened more than once in the past 10 years where some Twins players got food poisoning when playing the White Sox in Chicago? The Twins need a food taster when playing this particular rival. I volunteer as tribute!!
