Twins manager Ron Gardenire said there's been "tons of debate" internally whether to option Brian Dozier to Triple-A Rochester for a few weeks.

Dozier is batting just .235/.274/.327 with five homers and nine steals over 81 games, so the Twins are trying to decide whether he'd be better off getting some more seasoning in the minors. If he did get sent down, the 25-year-old would be brought back up in September.

I'm glad Nishioka isn't in the lineup, I don't think he'd have gotten a very good reception from the home crowd.

I think everyone who would have been interested in booing Nishi is probs more interested in the Vikings game tonight (not that I wouldn't boo him if I was there and he was in the lineup.)

Later in his answer, he says he really likes Dozier and what he brings to the field and to the team. He definitely believes in him, and has seen some improvements of late. He said there is no surprised that Dozier, like most rookies, struggle when he has come up.

Ya I love the logic there. Team full of slap hitters, one or two power guys (cuddy, Morneausy) wanna move the fences in. Selfish

That's why we don't move the fences in. That would be a homer in any other park, no?

I may have said this the last time a ball was hit there, but I think AT&T/Pacbell keeps it in. That right-center gap and wall combo they have is pretty ridiculous too.

There should be a net that comes out over the field to catch those balls when the come down -- for homers. :)

They could be our "Wrigley Field Baskets."

The Rays sideline guy... interviewed Joe Maddon after commercial break.

Q: Why is Zobrist playing 2nd today?

A: Well Moore and Hellickson are fly ball pitchers but the Twins put the ball on the ground more than most teams.

Seems to be working so far

What was the problem with DeVries tonight? Up and in the zone?

Several pitches were good and on the corners, but yeah, Rays waited for the pitches up and Devries would eventually deliver one right over the heart of the plate and up.

That's exactly what I had in mind but on a much grander scale. I think that's what the overhang in RF is supposed to be already, kinda.

I will say this about the 2012 Twins. I do believe that even being down 8-2 in the 4th, that they could conceivably still win this game.

Couldn't say that about the injury plaqued 2011 club.

I think I overheard "We got your back, Cole..."

Has anybody suggested exchanging the Twins flag in the concourse for a white flag to fly when it gets like this?

That is awesome. My vote for post of the night.
