KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 AL teams don't use a bench that often -- it's much more about being able to match up lefties and righties. I'm glad about Vargas coming up and all, don't get me wrong, just that it's not like anyone can say Molly is hamstrung by 13 pitchers -- there are other options. In terms of pinch hitting no, but guys on the bench see a significant amount of playing time in both leagues. I'm glad they have another bat too. They had three bench guys; a capable utility IF, a backup catcher, and Danny Santana. If DanSan is your only OF option off the bench and Gimenez is getting a start at 1B you're hamstrung.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Honest question because I see it repeated so often: everyone on this board realizes Byung Ho Park is injured and hasn't played in two weeks, right? You stated that Park would be a better option than Palka. I said Park would be a better option than Vargas. Unnecessary to ask me what I realize.

Unnecessary to ask me what I realize.I said Vargas or Park would be a better option than Palka due to handedness. Obviously, since Park is injured, that leaves Vargas.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Obviously, Park was injured at the time you wrote he would be a better option.Looking forward, he might be the better option and I knew he is currently injured, hence my continual use of Park/Vargas. That response wasn't geared at only you. I've seen calls for Park to join the team across the forum for the past few weeks. I was honestly asking if people didn't realize he was injured.
