Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 he really raked in AAA in 2015. Why do we have to make room for a groundskeeper on our 40-man? That's just a terrible deal. Sad.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 AY-ray AY-dree-an-zuh. Good one, though.Ay-ray...you going to the mall today?
GP830 Verified Member Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 The bottom line though is that we're DFAing players who most feel have potential or a higher ceiling for guys who either conflict with, or don't represent upgrades to already on the roster.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Barring some news out of spring training camp, Vielma's bat is not ready. It may never be ready, but he won't turn 23 until during the season, so he deserves more seasoning. I do want to watch him for signs that I've underestimated him.Yeah, and what happens if Vielma posts a .400 OPS? You've just burned an option, retarded the guy's development a bit (as he'd be on the bench a lot instead of playing), and you're right back to the problem of not having an adequate defensive shortstop on the roster.
