Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Mike Berardino wrote tonight that Torii Hunter has had several discussions with the Twins front office about a job in the Twins front office. Though Hunter didn't say much, he acknowledged the discussions and then pretty much verified that LaTroy Hawkins was coming "back home" in a similar role. “We will talk here in the near future,” Hunter told the Pioneer Press in a text message. “Glad to see LaTroy came back home.” In his introductory press conference, Thad Levine talked about the role of senior advisors like Darren Oliver and Michael Young held with the Rangers. Travis Hafner has a similar role with Cleveland.

Lefty74 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Great news. Torii has a 1 in a million personality. He can motivate with a smile and knows when to give someone a pat on the back or a kick in the butt. I think that last year a few kicks in the butt may have been in order. Too many younger players that seemed to be adrift.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Seems like a natural move.
FargoFanMan Verified Member Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 This is good to hear. Not your normal Bill Smith or gardy getting a job under TR just to have a job. Like what was said a one in a million personality and a guy who has been around with winning organizations his whole career and knows what it takes to win. This would be a solid move and not from the old boys club perspective. He's not Minnesota nice and shoots from the hip. The twins need this.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Torii is essentially a 30 WAR personality as proven over the past two seasons.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 30 WAR might be high there. But yeah, he is one of those guys who elevates others.
