Zach Burdi has been promoted to AAA Charlotte Knights, while his brother Nick has hardly pitched this season for the Twins (Chatanooga).  Maybe we drafted the wrong Burdi?  Lol

 

Where is Nick Burdi and is his baby brother (2016 draft) more MLB ready overall?

Zach was thought of a bit higher than Nick anyways... and I don't really think Zach was an option based on where we were drafting.  He was a first rounder... Nick wasn't... and for good reason.  Nick has also been hurt most of the season.

Granted... If Burdi was healthy, based on his spring training showing, he would have likely been in the big leagues by June.

Nick was chosen 46th overall, Zach 26th.

 

In their rankings the month before their respective drafts, BA had Nick as the #27 draft prospect, and Zach at #30.

Although I did see their mock drafts putting Zach as high as 9-12, compared to Nick around 22-23.

 

Still doesn't mean Nick couldn't have been moved up the ladder a little faster than he was...

Given the 9 walks in 16 innings at double-A, I'm not sure I'd dub Zach more "ready."I'd say it means more you know what you're getting when you draft a Burdi.
