Sorry to jack this thread, but does anyone know why F. Romero was pulled after 3 innings of shut out ball at Fort Myers tonight? Pitch count, innings limit, injury?

I've got to imagine Duffey is down. He's been practically begging to be sent to AAA. He's lost right now.

I agree. Monday is also Duffey's turn in the rotation, so it only makes more sense.

Sorry to jack this thread, but does anyone know why F. Romero was pulled after 3 innings of shut out ball at Fort Myers tonight? Pitch count, innings limit, injury?

Weather affected this game in Ft. Myers. Through three innings, Fernando Romero was pitching very well. The hard-throwing right-hander had given up three hits, but no runs. He walked none and struck out two. And then the weather came and the game was in a rain delay for 2 hours and 23 minutes. When they returned, Romero was done and lefty Luke Westphal replaced him.

We did add an article, so hopefully someone will merge this thread into that one. But, as I wrote in that article, they don't have to officially add Berrios until right before game time on Monday... which is after the deadline (which is in the afternoon). So much can happen before then. Duffey makes sense in an obvious kind of way, but I think there are several other options.
