There is some truth to this, but the optics of sending O'Rourke back to the minors after he pitched his guts out today would be too much for me.

He showed admirable poise on the bench, as he watched his 5-4 lead evaporate.

Haha as bad as this is, I have to laugh, there's some funny stuff on this board.

It feels better this way

It got us through some years of qualifying for some very high draft picks.

On the bright side,  the Wild got booted from the playoffs this afternoon to take some of the sting off the Twins' loss.

Great Twins coming home now, let's all go greet them at the airport and cheer them home!!!!

TOTALLY being sarcastic, as I am NOT happy after the mess  of this game and maybe this year, will be!!!!!

He did?

Looks poised to dish out a beating on 'ol JR to me.

I like that when the game is over, MLB.com tells me "Thank you for watching."

Darn right I should be thanked after that.

I've got a neighbor who's smoking some carp right now,   maybe I can get us a beta tester discount on one of the first dime bags when it's ready.

Do I need to fly out to Hanoi, Saigon or Bangkok. We don't eat Carp here.

I keep thinking about the game tying bunt play. How effing unlikely was that? I mean, the ball was going foul and he airmails it.

For a second I wasn't sure what you meant, until I realized you're still hoping for a win instead of just an end.

Eerily prescient.

Nothing should be a surprise by now. Murphy is on, two outs..and does Molitor pinch hit? Nope. Tonkin swings away.

I truly thought the team was going to find it's footing after the first 9 losses. After all, the pitching had been doing the job.

I've been wrong before, but this is a new level of wrongness.

Yes, things are way worse than almost anyone predicted. Many, many disappointments. Few rays of hope. There's more talent than any time since they were a playoff team and most of it is young, but they are mismatched all over the place.

This time, it's personal.  I know it now.  Molly gets it that I think he's seven kinds of suck as a game manager, so as this one wore on, he turned to Bruno, and said, "Hey, what time is it in Hong Kong now?  Ol' Dave must be getting up for work by now, after a debauched weekend, let's see if I can truck with his very soul on this fine Monday morning."

And so, this.

And then he said, "let's see if we can get the drama going and take a lead while he's rushing for his bus, so he has to look down at his non-complying smart phone, and misses that light on Nathan Road, and then has to sprint with all his crap to chase it down, and spills drops of his delicious coffee down his leg, so he looks to his students all day long like he's half a leopard."   I know he said that.

Then, the Murphy business-- which I didn't know about because I was in the Lion Rock tunnel, but gave me time to crank the volume on "Thieves in the Temple,"  so I didn't realize how loudly I said the F  in front of all my busmates when we came out of the tunnel.  And then Gulfa having to bat, and then that home run, and all of that coffee business, and bus-sprint business was for naught.

This sucky, soul-crushing  Monday morning is on you, Molly.  And a few of your co-conspirators.  Thanks be to the powers above, though, at least it wasn't in those horrid red jerseys today.

Or was it?

Let's hook up and go smoke some crack and make this wrong a right!

Stringer Bell might take you up on that, if I remember my Wire correctly.  Shoot, I'll join you.  Would surely make my poetry lesson far out and freaky today.

And aren't those Nats a cruel bunch?

"Hey, guys, let's sweep 'em, OK?  And on Sunday, let's drag it out as long as we can, and wreck their pitching staff, and make 'em miss their plane, so they have to walk back home.  And guess what, they've got Milone starting tomorrow, so they're gonna need 9 new pitchers, then, too!  Haw, haw haw!!!"

I have a hard time deciding whether today's game or yesterday's game was the most depressing game I have personally attended. Is it more depressing to hand over a game you should win, or is it more depressing to perform so badly that from inning two on everyone implicitly understands that the game is over?

The way that 15th unfolded was just utterly incomprehensible. I honestly didn't like that they pitched around Espinoza. Although what happened with Perez was as unpredictable as it gets.

I attended only today's game (thankfully). It will be a long time before I attend another Twins game--this team will have to get a lot better for me to think about getting to Target Field again--and the Twins wont be slated to come back to DC for years--I guess there is always Balt. but not in April when it is cold. I felt after the First Nat hit a homer this game was gone--even when Twins were winning. Especially on the ffing bunt. This is what we got for Hicks--should have taken the bucet of balls.

Time for Ryan and Molitar to both go.

2 questions for tomorrow--

What time does the plane from Rochester get in to MSP?

Who's on it?

oops, sorry, 2 more-

What time does the plane for Rochester depart?

Who's on it?

Is there anything positive that this team does well, or at least competently, at the moment? Starting pitching I guess would be the closest thing to decent that we have. Bullpen? Atrocious with no obvious closer or set up man. Defense? Disaster of an outfield. Offense? Well, you know. Even as a jaded Minnesota fan, I am surprised at how much of an utter wreck this year has been.

This team can find more ways to lose.

Let's see... by that do you mean "more" than what they've "accomplished", so far? If so... exactly how many more?
