Eight potential Game Changers who can help as starters or pinch hitters on any given day.  Some see strikeouts but I see runs.  Lots of runs

After watching some of that Park Byung Ho video, I can see why the Twins were pretty eager to acquire the young man. He's got that Cuban style 'point the bat at the pitcher' wind up, a strong stride and hip turn, and then a Reggie Jackson finish. Some of those 2014 homers looked like they were going 330 to 350 feet or more. He might have a little trouble adjusting to the extra few mph of MLB pitchers, but when he catches one flush, it'll go a long way.

Count me as a Park skeptic.I think the transition to MLB pitching is going to be rough. Lots of guys hit homers on 88 mph straight fastballs.

I think the Twins problem this year will be OPB not lack of power

That kind of power = runs.  OBP may guarantee a guy gets on base.  It takes several guys however with a HIGH OBP to guarantee runs.  With our team make up - I would rather go the power route.   As Boom stated - game changers.

I guess I will point out that guys getting on base means you sustain rallies and hit 3 run homers instead of solo shots. I am even more concerned about the strikeouts - they have far too many games where they don't even have competitive at bats.

yeah, not making outs is what wins a game. All or nothing power will lead to a lot of blowouts when the HRs are flying and long streaks of poor output when they aren't.  We need more OBP in that. Dozier has that.  Sano did it in the minors. Kepler has the look of doing it.

I don't mind having guys like Walker and Park in the lineup, but they still need to know when not to swing.

It is very interesting to see the evolution of this club since Target Field opened.  The Twins quickly realized that the power production they enjoyed in the Metrodome did not transfer to Target Field. While Kubel, Morneau and others were well suited to the baggy and vampire chairs - they could not lift the ball consistently over the limestone.

The revelation came when true power hitters like Thome and Willingham, as well as visitors like Ortiz and Bautista, seemed to solve the Target Field power puzzle by reaching the farthest reaches of the park's power alleys or vulnerable left field line.

With that lesson in mind, the club is attempting to transform itself into a team that can win with power in its own park.  The new crop of power hitters - Sano, Park and even Dozier are well suited to Target field.  Dozier and Park because of their ability to pull the ball down the left field line and Sano with his overwhelming power to all fields.

Arcia and Vargas, if they fully realize their potential, fit the Thome/Ortiz mode and Walker with his tremendous home run swing could be another example of how to win with power at Target Field.

Only time will tell whether it will payoff - I look forward to the fireworks.

This is pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

Power is nice but it works better if there's a mix of BA and/or OBP thrown into the mix.

Walker takes more strikes looking early in count than he does swinging.  He also works a lot of full counts which he eventually ends up striking out in.  I think if he is actually more aggressive early in counts - He would have better results with OBP and OPS.  IMO
