I'm a little worried about regression for Duffey, but looking at the minor league numbers, he put up better numbers the higher up the ladder he went. Hopefully that continues.

We're Twins fans so obviously we're concerned about a Duffy regression, but the optimist in me says that he is a smart kid who has learned how to use what he has to keep hitters off balance.  I choose to believe that he will continue to emerge in the rotation and along with good health from others, our rotation will actually become a strength in 2016.  Interesting to note that across three levels last year, Tyler hurled 195+ innings while finishing very strong at the highest level.

Duffey improved his peripherals each year. I could see some regressing as he gets figured out, but I've seen nothing to indicate that he's peaked either. I suspect any regressing will be met with adjustments, as he strikes me as the kind of pitcher who is quite capable of making them. He's successfully done it on each of his minor league stops.

I'm more worried about Duffey getting a spot on the 25-man than I am about him regressing. Don't get me wrong - I think he'll regress a bit. But the real challenge is going to be getting one of those last two spots in the rotation with Nolasco and Milone on the team, when Duffey still has options left.

The Radke comparison is outright bizarre, esp. after she threw Duffey's 8.2K/9: Radke hit that mark once in his career: 8.3 K/9 in his first pro season with the GCL Twins.  His career average in the majors was 5.4 K/9 (think Blac_burn.)

 

I just have a hard time seeing Duffey making the team out of Spring Training pending trades, injuries or doping...
