Never really liked the full beard look for pitchers.  Catchers it works for but pitchers I just always wonder what's living in there...seems like a great place to hide pine tar.

Ooh.  No.  You would never get pine tar out of a beard.  I know from personal experience.

Good point.  Vaseline?

At this point, I just want the innings to go fast so I can watch the Hannah and her horse commercials.

That works, but it it tends to reflect light back into the umpire's eyes.  So that one is dicey as well.

Best thing to do is just add a lot of "necessary" sun screen to your face that just happens to soak the beard.

I disagree.  Where's the bag?  In fair territory.  Where do you have to run to touch it?  Just saying....

Rule 5.09

Edit: A batter is out when:

a (11)

In running the last half of the distance from home base to
first base, while the ball is being fielded to first base, he
runs outside (to the right of ) the three-foot line, or inside
(to the left of ) the foul line, and in the umpire’s judgment
in so doing interferes with the fielder taking the throw at
first base, in which case the ball is dead; except that he
may run outside (to the right of ) the three-foot line or
inside (to the left of ) the foul line to avoid a fielder
attempting to field a batted ball;

Rule 5.09(a )(11) Comment : The
lines marking the three-foot lane are a part of that lane and a
batter-runner is required to have both feet within the three-foot
lane or on the lines marking the lane. The batter-runner is permitted
to exit the three-foot lane by means of a step, stride,
reach or slide in the immediate vicinity of first base for the sole
purpose of touching first base.

Nicely done for those of us too lazy to actually look up the rules.

You just have to find the right beard oil

Beard oil...now we're talking.  Maybe a little brylcream in the hair to go with it and the next thing you know the ball is hitting the mascot.

Sorry about Dozier guys.

Had on my fantasy team after some guy dropped him fairly early in the season, traded him the other day, had to sell high.

some really sweet at bats taken by the Twins tonight, what was plouffe even doing that at bat? Swinging at the **** pitches and letting fastballs down the middle go by him without even a flinch.
