twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 J. B. Shuck singles on a soft ground ball to second baseman Brian Dozier. Adam LaRoche to 3rd. For once I fully appreciate the worth of the play when following Gameday. I suppose I could turn on the magic box that Danny talks from.Ain't so magic when Danny's on.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Lot of bad luck for Hughes. Should have had the third out on the roller. A hard ground ball in the wrong place. Great throw by Rosario BTW.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Just us nobody's.I'm among 'em.

amjgt Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 It feels like Hughes' strand rate on walks is like 0%
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Or save your allowance and buy a TV!Oh help. Don't throw that at me now. I thought I was saving up for a phone.
David HK Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 uh-oh- step away for a few moments, and it looks like Hughes is Pelf-ing.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 It feels like Hughes' strand rate on walks is like 0%I guess that explains why he's so careful not to walk very many batters.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 And then there are times when Gameday is just a little too informative. Can someone help me understand this one? Alright, that's way too small. Take 2:
David HK Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 A bit disturbing, too, this recent trend of some early runs, then nothing. Although- who cannot be in favor of early runs, it's as though, 'my work here is done, and I can rely on my vaunted bullpen to hold this lead.' I don't think our 2 in the first is enough today. Especially since it's now tied.... (is that last bit a CBU?)
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The magical Danny G. gives me the play-by-play of Dozier grabbing the bullet by its tail.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I like Todd Van Steensel.ETA: Oh, and speaking of minors, Trey got a hit.
mnsportsgeek Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Can we just get a couple 10 pitch at bats and knock this guy out of the game? I don't even care if they're outs.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Big Thank You to ChiTown!!! I had to call her this morning... (Probably woke her up... cuz she sleeps til Noon)... and let her know that I was absolutely slammed. It was such an odd day today. It was my final day at work after 24 years. I've been working hard to get ready for my departure. Thought I had it under control but I didn't plan on one thing... It's Memorial Day weekend. This meant that people were leaving early for the weekend so basically people were leaving at different times throughout the day. This meant that they were stopping by for hugs and that last conversation with me. It started at 9am and it was just a steady stream until 3PM... when the building basically emptied and there I was with just a couple of stragglers on my final day and I was able to finish up. Don't me wrong... I appreciated every moment... There were tears and valuable words of encouragement and the best well wishes I could have ever gotten... but it certainly knocked everything that I had left to do backwards by hours and I soon realized that I would have no time to do that last game thread open before my Baseball World Tour. I didn't plan on that and I should have... So... Big Thank You to ChiTown for saving me... She Rocks!!!
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The most valuable words of encouragement I can give to Riverbrian now are Good. Now he has more time for Game Threads.

David HK Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Yipe- Smardzija is throwing seeds. That gameday pitch sequence to Mauer.... oi, vey. Pure nastiness.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Uh, you were not reading carefully if that was your conclusion. He didn't retire.Oh no. Don't tell me he was fired. Oh wait. He's moving to that one state, right? Heck, I forgot. My bad.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I'm calling it. Mauer homerun Calling a Mauer Home Run... Only Works about once every 60 At-bats. I made up that 60 at-bats thing... I don't feel like looking up the exact percentage.
mnsportsgeek Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 It feels like Phil is a ticking time bomb right now. I hope he can get through one more inning for us.
