That would be a surprise.  The last interviews/meetings with Molitor and Lovullo were mainly to let them down gently?

 

Part of me would be disappointed because Doug seems more old-school, but he also seems like he could be much more entertaining (than Molitor, at least) -- which is an overlooked factor in these discussions.

I am entertained by good baseball and a winning team.  I don't think Doug is on par with the other two guys to provide that.

Probably not, and frankly I am not sure how entertaining Doug would be otherwise (occasional tantrum/ejection aside).  But Molitor in particular seems like he could be a real bore (although yeah, if he can fire up the team and win, who cares).

 

Entertainment was a primary factor in my Maddon interest, though.  The manager who tweets!

Either they were covering their b*tts or incredibly slow off the mark.  Neither are desirable IMO.

 

 

 

 

And really- though some  fans can be in denial all they want- when it comes down to it, the Twins have demonstrated over recent times that these two undesirable traits aren't mutually exclusive of one another.

Well, I woke up this morning, and my gut feeling completely changed. I now seriously doubt Doug Mientkiewicz will be named Twins manager.

My theory is that a local reporter wanted to get his name out there nationally. You would assume the first tweet had some merit or actual journalism to it.  Turns out it was a "gut feel"

By suggesting other posters are 'in denial' because they have something else to say that is opposite of what you believe to be true is bordering on disrespect.
