What would you do?

Say it is a 4-6 run game, late in Detroit, and Gardy puts in Hughes to get his out......

If you are a Detroit hitter, do you work a walk, do you not worry about Hughes' record, does anything in your approach change? Not saying you don't try to get a hit, but do you work extra hard for a walk? Are you a spoiler?

Lol, I always try my hardest to get on no matter how I can. That's my competitive side and I'd hope any major leaguer would do the same.

If it's Sunday, I'm probably 3 sheets to wind after celebrating all Saturday night/Sunday morning--I'm trying to avoid being HBP!

I would definitely be the jerk who would grind out that at bat. Doesn't matter if it's a 15 run lead in the bottom of the eighth - I'd be locked in 100% to try to prevent Hughes from getting that bonus.

"Hey Pinto, tell me what's coming - Hughes will make as much in a bonus check for getting me out right here as you're making ALL SEASON."

As a fan, I would hate my guts!

I'm not a work the count kind of hitter, so I'd be looking for my pitch to swing away and get the team a run closer to contention. That being said, if I had skills, I'd be working the at bat just like any other. Unless Phil has agreed to split his bonus with me 60/40, then I'm bunting for a hit.
