Dilligaf69 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Ugh swarzak... So why are we starting swarzak again? They showed the stat at the beginning of the game.. Rediculously high era as a starter, rediculously low era as a reliever.... Lets go ahead and start him, especially against a team he usually struggles against No other options!!!
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 In hindsight, the Twins probably should've left Swarzak in the bullpen and just set up a pitching machine on the mound. Probably would've gotten the same results.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 So does Liriano get another chance to start??? Kinda running out of options! But we know that Liriano will get shelled. Maybe Butera should get the next spot start.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Miguel Cabrera steals second. What an embarrassment.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Liriano started the inning from the stretch. It's got me thinking. Liriano used to use a windup... Right?. He didn't always pitch from the stretch exclusively... Right? I'm trying to remember and I usually remember stuff like this.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Back in the wind up now... Poor kid is really searching for something
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 It's a good nite to fire the manager and I use to like him.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 So.... Valencia was ejected tonight for arguing a 3rd called strike. That's nice.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Did Carroll just get tossed? I couldn't tell if it was him or Jerry White.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 There are some really good umpires in the league. Tonight's first base ump is not one of them.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 There was a bang-bang play at first, but Carroll was clearly safe. The ump called him out, so he turned around and said something and was immediately ejected (first of his career). Then Gardy came out, raised hell, and was given the heave-ho as well. But that's the third call that ump has missed tonight.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 That umpire should never umpire another professional baseball game. The league needs to do something about the integrity of the game.

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I see as a team tonight our WHIP is over 2 -- Not so good my friends, not so good.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Thank you for the info Must have been a terrible call to get a stoic Carroll that amped up, eh?Yeah, it was pretty bad. Carroll was shocked that he got ejected though, so he must not have said anything too terrible.

Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I didn't see it. I had no plans on watching this loss after work, but now I do. And I have been consistent regarding Swarzak . . . and Liriano is not to be used in mop-up roles. Just sayin'.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 David Bromberg and Liam Hendriks will be pitching for the Twins this year. How Bromberg is not in Rochester already is beyond my thinking capabilities, apparently. Gardenhire and Rantz are equally insane. This team simply needs to end the season with: Hendriks Bromberg Diamond Blackburn (I guess, $5.5 million reasons next year) Walters/DeVries/Manship What is there to lose?
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 C-Dog, I understand the point there. But, my god, really . . . some very limited LF time for Revere in the spring vs. some weird preference for RF for him? A manager who knows anything about baseball should say, "REALLY? No. Get back to LF, which is where you will be most of the time." I don't understand how such a stupid decision could be made there. And even all of that doesn't mean squat regarding the construction of tonight's lineup.
