twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I think that NL pitcher in the second should have started, he's pretty good. Someone should have told Matheny.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Jose didn't jump high enough for that one.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Don't you remember as little kids, making insane catches. Why cant these *******s do it?

Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Maybe Matheny should have started Kershaw??? He should have started the better and more dominate pitcher. Just like Ferrell should have used Chris Sale after Felix Hernandez. Jon Lester is good but Sale is better.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I don't know. I'm fine with the Jeter sentimentalism. I loved the commercial and the ovations.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Looks like Tulo borrowed some soccer players shoes.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Jeter leading off, time for some rolaids. Ok I'll stop now...... Maybe...... Depends............. Ok
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 If it's a grocery bag. Was gonna go with Hefty, but that would be exaggerating. Hoping you were thinking plastic instead of paper, but not holding it against you.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Jeter bloop single, legend cemented.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 it is too bad you are so cynical. I liked the part where he touched the sick bat boy and cured him of leprosy... ... despite the jetlag of flying all night to return from a marathon nonstop 72-hour negotiating lasting peace in a troubled region of the world. (Edit: Harold Reynolds re-confirms that Derek Jeter is, in fact, an ambassador!) Again, I'm not one of them, but if Jeter hits for the cycle, this evening will end for a JeterHater on a rooftop in a hail of SWAT bullets.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok enough now move on he isn't God for Jeters sake.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok enough now move on he isn't God for Jeters sake. Or is he?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ok enough now move on he isn't God for Jeters sake. No, but if there's a downpour rain delay, you might be able to see him retake the field by briefly walking on water...

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Is it the 7th inning stretch already?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Sorry, my bad I guess everyone was cheering at not having to watch Jeter any longer, that sounds right.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Last I knew Jeter was retiring not dying.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Kind of wish we still had Gomez. Not me.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Last I knew Jeter was retiring not dying. Even then you would only have to wait three days... Petty of me, but I enjoy seeing Gomez swing hard and miss.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Ooh, Ooh OOH, I totally know this one! Target's marketing agency, you're my corporate soul mate! That commercial soundtrack was an instrumental version of 'Kids in America', recorded by a then-31-year-old British lady by the name of Kim Wilde. Sure, that's a bit like recording an 'I was there' ode to the American Revolution for her, but the important thing is that Minnesota-based Target somehow found out that her song has a strong association for me with an early right of passage, and I will be stocking up on Crest, Tide (or was that Walmart?), and random rugs and linens because of their commitment to demographically popular random music in their advertising.

It would be fun to talk to you and see your facial expressions when you say this.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Not me. Explain/expand, but no need to defend. Threw in my towel on Gomez about the time they gave up on him, but it had to do with them ending up getting what may have been at the time better value with Hardy. Just wondering, not arguing.
