Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Over the next few months, Wizards of the coast is launching free dungeons and dragons on their site. This will be known as Basic D&D. Today, they posted over 100 pages of free rules for the new version. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/basicrules
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Thanks. I'll take a look but I'm pretty deep in the Pathfinder camp these days.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I used to play that in the 90s under the second edition rules. Surprisingly, I was very single at the time. Never really liked any of the subsequent rule sets. There seemed to be some good ideas surrounded by extremely bad ones.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Can we re-roll the Constitution attribute for Pelfrey, the Wisdom attribute for Hicks, the Dexterity for Pinto, the Strength for Mauer (legs pricked by a xan?), the Charisma for Bill Smith, and the Intelligence for any number of journalists? / just repeating some memes, no personal opinion intended
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I haven't played D&D for years. The system was too obviously flawed for me to keep playing, even the 2nd Edition. There are loads of games out there without the unnecessary complexity and imbalance of D&D. Still know a few people who play 3rd edition, though. I gave it a whirl a couple of times, left unimpressed. Still less broken than the Palladium system, though. That was pure crap.
