ashbury Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The Royals broadcasters were convinced after Zuke took that foul tip off the forearm he'd be removed from the game. Down 6-1, 7th guy due up in the bottom of the 9th, Zuke's till in there. +1 to Zuke. Lenny Dykstra can lend the nickname of "Nails" to him.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I bet $1000 that the Twins will score 4 runs this inning. You won the drawing for some TD Bux with Byron Buxton's picture on it, too?
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Not a real lot to take away from this game in the vein of, "well at least we...". Anything?

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Twins on track for 74 wins this season, but I will be pleasantly surprised if they end up with 70.

Depending on how much they sell off, 75 is still realistic. The schedule is easier in the 2nd half. And hopefully Corriea/Pelphrey/Deduno/Pino starts will be replaced with May/Johnson/Meyer starts, etc.

Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Another note from the Royals broadcast - sideline guy Joel Goldberg said he talked to a guy who talked to a guy who was told John Farrell was going to get Mauer on the All Star team so that MN fans could have both MN boys on the all star team (the other being Perkins).
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Concur. I'm remaining my optimistic self and still fully expecting 72.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is ****show one word or two? I literally laughed out loud, GCTF. (and thanks for the Chris Hermann tribute, two laughs from one post doesn't happen very often, and especially appreciated by me on such a dismal evening of baseball).

How's he going to do that? It's going to have to be a rash of injury and misfortune akin to Mr. Burns' company softball team.
