tobi0040 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Time to call up Buxton. (JK) Funny. Even as he started 0-8, he had an outfield assist at 2B in the second game. So a HR and assist so far, shows the range of things he can do.
TKGuy Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Good night to watch the minor league starters
kdrupp09 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 RED WINGS REPORTRochester 5. Columbus 3 Shouldn't this score read the other way, Rochester 3. Columbus 5?
halfchest Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Brett Lee did he get injured? Called up a level? What did I miss?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Time to call up Buxton. (JK) we know it is a joke, but given their moves this offseason, I think this might have been their plan (had he not been injured). Otherwise, their CF moves this off season make little sense.

Otherwise, their CF moves this off season make little sense. I really think that the plan was (prior injury) have Buxton play AA till the Future's game at Target Field and then have him stay. Thus showing the willingness to part with Mastro and not really have any other back up outfielder ready.
MileHighTwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 A team at the All Star Break that is within 3 games of a wild card may make some bold moves to improve the club - to include bringing up their best prospect. Could happen - but not unless Buxton gets to AA soon and rakes there.
DAM DC Twins Fans Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Brett Lee did he get injured? Called up a level? What did I miss? Brett is my AAP. I wondered the same thing. I checked MILB.com. Nothing. He didn't get his status change (call up or DL). I also checked the Ft. Myers paper. Nothing. (I don't tweet so I couldn't check that). In answer to your question--I don't know any more than you but he didn't get called up. I actually wonder if he is going somewhere as part of a trade (like Sulberin earlier this season).

With Buxton missing time and still shaking off the rust, the earliest I believe it is possible for him to be up is maybe September and even then, more than likely sometime in 2015.

Twins Daily Admin Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I heard that Buxton scored from second base tonight on a wild pitch. Can anyone confirm that?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Not a good time for Matty to flame out..... what with his opt out day coming up tomorrow. This could be good news for the Twins, though, so they will be forced to go with the future instead of grabbing on to more past the prime past. I am a little surprised that the highly rated farm system is not doing better this year. Sure, Sano and Buxton have been absent, but I thought the talent would also translate to stronger team play.
Twins Twerp Provisional Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 That's about all Hicks did in 2013... Buxton allegedly scored from 2nd on a wild pitch. He got to second after forcing a bad throw to first... Hicks doesnt do that.
