I know that hitters try to read pitchers. Do pitchers read hitters, too? I suppose they do, if they think they see something that indicates a hitter's intention. Recently I've been watching Joe Mauer's at-bats, and I may have detected something that pitchers and catchers are using against him. We see it over and over, a player gets hot, he hits everything, then he slumps a little and it just continues. Heres what you do, Arcia being the prime target for this, sit him down, two-three games, never let him get into a prolonged slump and let him go for 5+ games whiffing at everything. Oswaldo Aria is one of my favorite Twins. When he came back up from his wrist injury, he brought energy, enthusiasm, and attitude along with his power stroke. Sadly, he has regressed big time in the month of June. In his last 10 games, here is his line, and it's not pretty: 2-32(.063) with 17 K's, with 0 runs scored and 0 RBI's. What's up with this guy? I was watching him last year, and he was absolutely lights out at Fort Meyers (something like 9-0) with a crazy low ERA. He was promoted to New Briton was was shelled! He started this year at New Briton again with the same results. I believe he was hurt, and sent back to Fort Meyers. Tonight he threw 6 scoreless innings. Is he a prospect or not?
