    I love the Twins. I love Target Field. I love going to games. Simply put, the atmosphere for regular season games is not good. A lot of fans can't even be bothered to stand up and clap for the starting lineup. A large portion of fans aren't paying attention to the game whatsoever. You can go to other stadiums and this is not the case. It's not an excuse of the team not being good either. Before the last couple seasons when we were actually competing for/winning the division Target Field has had plenty of empty seats. Yes, baseball fans at other stadiums aren't all paying attention to every single pitch. There's still an energy around the game that you can feel being in the crowd. It bums me out a bit because Target Field is such a nice field. It has a lot going for it that other places don't. The atmosphere just isn't there.

    I'm not convinced this is better than keeping Jeffers and attempting to make the playoffs. "For a front office looking to compete now while building for the future, this is exactly the type of creative buy-low opportunity worth exploring." Why would the Twins be trading one of the best players in a premium position this year for a buy-low opportunity? How does this help the Twins for the future?

    Everything I've read has said Joe Ryan has no interest in an extension. If that's true, the only logic to keeping him beyond this trade deadline is if you think the Twins have a shot at the World Series before his contract is up. Does anyone here think that is a possibility? I would hate to see him go as he's a great player and I enjoy watching him pitch. Obviously depends on the return and all those caveats. For organizations like the Twins trading players in this scenario is exactly how we have to operate. Hopefully get multiple good prospects in return with one or two ready/close to MLB ready. Then it's time for the younger guys to fill in the rotation.

    Yasser Mercedes has been playing ok to good since the end of May. Unfortunately his 37 games in April/May were very bad weighing down his overall season numbers. I'm very intrigued with what he can do next season
