    Keaschall is legit. Culpepper is Legit. Taj is legit. I think Zebby will be legit. I think Abel will be legit. I think Rodriguez will be legit. I think Jenkins will be legit. I think Ross as a cheap and controllable utility infielder will be legit (I think the Twins crapping of the bed at the trade deadline was also legit) Overall lots to be excited about in the future. Having said that, it would have been nice to have finished the job of stealing a loss from the jaws of victory today in our chase for the 5th lotto slot!

    Is his track record as concerning as it sounds compared to other MLB pitchers over a 5 year stretch? He averaged just under 27 starts a season and around 150 innings a season with no major surgery.... That is actually pretty reliable overall! Does he even get the chance to have a 'dominant' start to 2027 with the lock out? How would a dominant first half of 2027 change the narrative for which you have expressed concern? Would they be 'giving up their best starting pitcher' or perhaps more accurately be getting SOMETHING before he is gone? A smart small market team would have traded Ryan no later than 1.5 years before losing him (ie when that package from the Red Sox was on the table). The Twins are not a smart small market team. Given the crap position they have put themselves in....I would trade him before the Lockout. Teams will probably correctly interpret that they will get optimal Ryan for the 50-75% of the season likely to be played. Plus, it hedges against an entire season being lost.

    It is painful to see Jenkins struggling, but this is exactly what is needed. The information he is gathering will be invaluable to his development over the offseason. He'll be just fine.

    Not sure if it ever mattered how the trade deadline acquisitions performed on a team that was never going to be playoff competitive. In fact, it hurt the team's draft position and minor league depth, so congrats.... or something....

    Huge fan of Buck, Buuuuuuuuut..... 20 mil/yr for age 35+ Buck is a dash of ludicrous sprinkled on a large helping of silly. Buck's current contract has been a win for the Twins even with the injuries. Any extension would most certainly not be. Both sides can discuss yearly contracts based on his current health status and the team construction when the current contract is done. Year to year.... if he can and still wants to play.

    So impressed by Sabato's perseverance. I and many had written him off years ago. He kept plugging away and working on his craft. He is probably not an MLB player, but at one point we didn't think he would be a quality AA much less than a quality AAA player.... so who knows?! I'm rooting big for him going forward (with my tail between my legs)
