    It's pretty amazing how quickly he's turned himself into a more-than-just-reliable reliever.

    I would have walked him to fill the bases. I'd rather pitch to Rivas or RH pinch hitter than Emerson and It focuses the defense on getting the no-tag out at home no matter where the ball is hit and you can still attempt completing the DP at 1B.

    I would fear for Emilio Pagan's life if the Twins acquired him and he gave up a game losing homerun. So, just no across the board though it would be cool if The Dobnak came back and he pitched really well.

    Ya know, if my math is good and I'd like to think that it is, Outside of Cano (1.4 WAR) Twins are up according to BBref WAR numbers, Twins -0.1 WAR (Lopez and Floro who we got from MIA for Lopez), Orioles -0.3 WAR (Povich) on that trade. Just sayin'. Surprisingly it wasn't such a train wreck of a trade I thought it was.

    This. Trading Jeffers now is actually doing him a solid, optimizes him as an asset, and I don't think it ruins our clubhouse though it does reduce our offense some. Alex Jackson probably wont hit .323 the rest of the way but should keep a positive WAR. Not sure who the 3rd catcher will be then (Banuelos?) unless we acquire one before the trade deadline.

    I wouldn't consider Josh Bell's season as underperforming. Yes you would want your DH to hit more but what were you expecting from Bell. He's 33, leads the team in RBIs, and has acquired the most WAR (0.6) in a season since 2022. Seems pretty much in-line with expectations.

    Go has gotten 2 outs this inning, could he get a third? Oh, the suspense is killing me.

    Well, his OPS after 17 games with the Horse Poofs is 844 and playing stellar defense at a premium position and looking every part of a major league ball player, so I'd say his trajectory is definitely upward. I'd even say that if the major league roster suffers a rash of infield injuries and they need a shortstop, Marek could cover the position and may not give it up for 10 years.

    I think our GM realizes that the cupboard is pretty bare when looking for a major league ready reliever, so if Tommy Nance can provide even average major league innings it helps us "get to Gomez" which is probably our biggest challenge right now.

    For a guy who I thought was just famous-name roster fodder when they acquired him, Kody Clemens just keeps doing things that makes the manager write his name on the lineup card every day.
