  1. Years ago a young left-handed starter had a good slider that he developed into an incredible weapon that gave hitters fits even if they knew it was coming. He had a pretty good career. His name is Steve Carlton.
  2. I was kinda hoping for a comeback, but then that happened.
  3. Can we just decide that Taylor Rogers now pitches like Mr. Rogers and a guy like Aaron Rozek might be just as effective?
  4. Man, I have hated losing to the Dodgers since 1965.
  5. He's a warm body that can chuck a baseball for multiple innings.
  6. Agreed that the point system seems flawed, allow the win-loss to stand all the way through the over time period and only award the "tie point" if the game goes to shootout. I disagree about any playoff design intent to punish good teams. In the NHL, any team that can win a 7-game series has earned it, just ask my chiropractor.
  7. Wow, 8 stolen bases by the Sky Carp on Eduardo Tait last night, no caught stealing. Ouch. Minor League ERA's are sky high this year and Ft. Myers is the only Twin's full season club with a team ERA lower than the league average. It ain't pretty out there in minor league hurler land.
  8. Wow. Off topic, but The Blue Jays just let Kevin Gausman throw 44 pitches in the first inning, 4 walks and 5 hits including a grand salami. And he's pitching the next inning.
  9. Ben Ross says, "KC who?" Ross has mostly been a shortstop in his career but has played a bunch of 3B and CF and some at all other positions except for catcher. The 5th round pick out of the now defunct Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio has had a solid but unspectacular minor league career until this season where he was crushing the ball in Wichita and has continued to play good baseball in St. Paul.
  10. After his homer, it looked like bell was kinda mad and told someone to f-off as he walked the dugout, then disappeared. Wonder what that was about; hopefully I just lip-read it wrong.
  11. I guess they need someone to catch the ball in CF, cuz he sure can't hit it.
  12. SWR pitched in relief for Toronto in Monday night's loss the the Phillies. He went 4 innings, gave up 1 hit and no walks or runs, and struck out 3. Easily his best outing of the year.
  13. I guess this is why it is beneficial for teams with any notion of making the post season to develop and spend on a good and deep starting rotation.
