  1. Didn’t Jenkins say he really wanted to go to UNC? I would assume it will take over slot to sign him, as it has been stated over and over how he would be #1 most years. If he doesn’t sign, do the Twins get the #6 pick next year, or has that rule changed?
  2. Seems like we should be talking about CJ Culpepper more. Awesome start to his pro career.
  3. Have Jenkins and Soto agreed to terms? I haven’t been able to find anything about that.
  4. Thank you. A great read, but wasn’t Tom Kelly long gone by 2008?
  5. Does this mean we could have gotten any of these guys for Ron Coomer?
  6. I am concerned about Ober’s usage, as well as the other starters. I would favor reduced pitch counts to limit fatigue. Not every start of course, but when the long-man of the bullpen is rested, use him. Sounds like todays game will be a bullpen game, which will give the starters an extra day of rest. Lots of options for Rocco. I just wish the bullpen was performing better overall. That’s another topic.
  7. Thank you. I had assumed this would be the choice barring an injury to another pitcher.
  8. I feel that he will be a reliever long term. Many similarities to Alcala. For now though he should probably start at St. Paul to gain innings and experience. You never know what role the MLB team will need him for. Jmo.
  9. I was watching MLB TONIGHT this evening, and they played a clip of Correa attempting to steal 2nd base. This was on September 12th, I think. He was thrown out, and his right foot jammed into the defenders foot. He stayed down for a bit, and was rubbing his right ankle. The speculation of the piece was that maybe he loosened the metal plate from the surgery he had while a minor leaguer. He did play 11 of the next twelve games at ss.
  10. I believe Joe Mauer belongs in the HOF. However, if Joe DiMaggio and Harmon Killebrew, among others, don’t get in on the first ballot, no one should get in on the first ballot.
  11. Of those drafted as relievers, I believe Jesse Crain had the most success. Chargois and John Curtiss are still pitching.
  12. I didn’t think the 10 day minimum applied due to Varland being added as the 29th man.
  13. I think Balazovic and Martin have been banged up. I have hope both will come back stronger next year. The strange thing with Canterino is I have never heard that there is anything wrong with his UCL. They just ran out of other things it could be, so they will repair his UCL. Doesn’t seem like the most sound strategy.
  14. So was Gaetti’s and Koskie’s at first. If he works at it, it will improve.
  15. I feel that Winder is one of the 13 best pitchers in the organization. He should be up. I would like to see him and Ober at the back end of the bullpen, with Duran and Jax. Instead of long relief, let’s see some three-inning saves.
  16. I feel that if Pagan were an injured pitcher, it would greatly help the twins.
  17. I would like to see the Twins draft Lesko. Organizational depth is good everywhere but perhaps catcher. Take a shot at a potential ace.
  18. Miami is said to be looking at Oaklands cf. Maybe Celestino would interest them. Ordinarily I wouldn’t suggest this considering Buxtons injury history. But it could be time to sell high on Celestino.
  19. I feel Simmons was brought in on a one year deal, with the thought being Lewis would be up around the same time Kirilloff and Larnach came up. And Lewis would be the back-up at ss and cf. But Lewis showed up lame and missed the year. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Twins sign another low budget one year deal at ss, and hope Lewis is recovered and ready by June. Spend on SP.
  20. Just for perspective.. Jacob deGrom was older than Ryan when he made his debut. He also wasn’t all that highly regarded. Not saying Ryan will be the next deGrom, just saying that none of us know.
