  1. Yeah, too many guys who aren't terribly good but also not too terrible that you willingly want to DFA them.
  2. OK super bizarro take alert, but I'd think a 12 man staff could also work if you had at least one righty and one lefty who could play a passable corner OF. They wouldn't have to be good, just good enough to guard against the rare opposite field hit when the other pitcher is on the mound. You could rotate them from the mound to a corner sport depending which batter is up.
  3. I don't think he is either, I thought I was clear on the hypothetical situation. I was just wondering if there happened to be a slam dunk pick if both team and player would agree to preventative measures seeing as how much money is at stake for both parties.
  4. Moscow wants Fox News to apologize for Bill O'Reilly calling Putin a killer: http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/06/kremlin-says-it-wants-apology-from-fox-news-over-putin-comments.html "We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting, and honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call. Uh huh, OK sure. How about we just pretend Fox News isn't a respected TV company and call it even.
  5. Hopefully, but ugh, last year's biggest weakness once again shows up with everyone wondering if this team will hit a 3 again. Brandon Rush and Tyus Jones are now the best outside shooters? Assuming Muhammad's current pace is not likely to continue, I'd guess those two would have to see a significant increase in minutes.
  6. I'm looking forward to it. I only hope that the effort put into this show doesn't negatively impact Fargo season three since both programs have the same show runner.
  7. Yeah, the biggest thing for the Patriots was how much they had the ball. The first half Atlanta couldn't have done much about it because the Falcons scored using a pick six and a handful of big offensive plays, it's not like you're going to regret those points simply because you didn't hold the ball longer. But that last drive was Atlanta's chance to manage the clock to their advantage. And their O-line should not have been gassed. They should have been stiff and stale if anything, they hardly were ever on the field.
  8. Triple 'Like'. I wonder if there would ever be a HS arm considered the consensus top pick this early in the year and both the team and the player know going in that he'll be the choice so to prevent injury there is a mutual agreement that he doesn't pitch competitively (strenuously?) but instead only does simulated or side sessions working within a throwing program and with an instructor endorsed by the team? Not that I'm suggesting Greene is that guy, just a hypothetical I was thinking about the other day; an already anointed pick, like if Bryce Harper had been a pitcher or Stephen Strausberg had been a high schooler.
  9. Well I hope my post didn't sound too ominous or anything. It just had lots of new characters added with lots of different storylines not all of which seem to have a lot of purpose, but maybe they are part of a bigger picture yet to be revealed. Not all of the characters are as compelling as the original main cast though and it's hard to tell if it's the characters or the actors. That's in regard to the back half of the season anyway, the first half was more similar to the previous seasons.
  10. To be clear, you don't like Travelers? I was considering it because it had gotten good critical and audience reviews. However it looked like it had massive potential to be preachy and it also looked like the kind of show that might try to hard to hold the audiences hand instead of letting the viewers try to figure out what's going on.
  11. I like Vikings, without spoiling anything though, I hope recent developments in the story don't hurt the ratings and cause the show to go under, I suspect it could. I'm fine with how it's going, but I'm not sure how other viewers feel.
  12. I was hoping for that opportunity, but really only because I wanted to see Bryant miss the kick leaving the Falcons in the exact same spot to lose as the Vikings did in the 1999 NFC Championship game. Football may be the only thing that brings out the schadenfreude in me.
  13. Just wait until the Star Wars preview comes out, it will make it perpetual winter.
  14. Unlike baseball, lately I've had a hard time rooting for any football team. I was cheering against the Falcons because I'm still sore about 1998, but also because I'll be damned if another championship-less team wins a Super Bowl before my Vikings do. Unless that championship-less team is playing the Packers, Bears or Cowboys, then win away.
  15. I believe the first season was supposed to take place in 1983. I saw the kids wearing Ghostbusters Halloween costumes so it must be 1984 now.
  16. Everyone knows that the only part of the Constitution that needs to be followed is the 2nd amendment. Heck, the Bill of Rights is even on a different document so we can probably go ahead and toss page one in the garbage, it's basically just a cover letter anyway.
  17. If we're playing predictions, mine is Kintzler, Pressly, Chargois, Belisle, Hughes, Rogers and O'Rourke. But I would like to find room for Tonkin initially and Melotakis, Duffey and Hildenberger in short order.
  18. I don't understand how losing Park would make the Twins frauds.
  19. Yeah, I like riding my bike. It's been a little tough the last couple years though because my kids are old enough to bike, but too young to bike far. It's kind of hard to tell my kids I'm going out to ride my bike without them.
  20. My dad tore his in high school and I kind of think that stuff is genetic. A few years back after trying to get in shape by running (yuck) I got tendonitis in my achilles. Now I can't run more than about a mile without it feeling like it's on fire. Or so the excuse goes when my wife tries to get me in shape again.
  21. Why on earth would these readers assume the author is a conservative Trump backer, why would this be surprising to them? Aside from the fact that very few people actually like Trump, didn't they get the clue as to her ideologies when people were burning her books because they were full of witchcraft?
  22. I'm quite confident none of those things are at all related to each other. Each was an independent decision caused by different contributing factors and motivations. Except for the Walker/Palka bit. They may have DFA'd Walker because they preferred Palka.
  23. La Velle Tweeted that the expectation is that he'll clear waivers: https://twitter.com/LaVelleNeal/status/827595931533058049 I think it's possible that in the Twins eyes clearing waivers is all but a certainty meaning all this did was let them put off any decision until this spring. If he gets claimed we'll know they were wrong. If he doesn't, I guess we'll never know if there was much risk of losing him or not.
  24. Looks good, thanks Brock. I think you forgot the Olympic Beach Volleyball forum though. That thread was hopping last summer. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/23548-olympic-volleyball/?hl=volleyball
  25. What on earth caused you to start squeezing donuts?! I also think Krispy Kreme are overrated, ours in town didn't last long either, though they chose a really bad location. I take my kids to a local donut shop downtown every Saturday while my wife works out of our house (she's a photographer). Shout out to Sandy's Donuts, for creating the only thing that makes my kids like me!
