  1. Without checking, I'm going to go out on a limb and say TK probably had Brian Harper pinch hit for Junior Ortiz and Lenny Webster a few times too.
  2. Man is it annoying to hear the doom and gloom of losing the DH spot for one possible at bat. Has Dick not been following who the DH has been this year?
  3. Oof, I wouldn't try the pizza then. It's even worse.
  4. Those were some nice at bats. The Eddies look like Vlad Guerrero in his prime making contact with anything.
  5. I agree, but the league still does so I don't have a ton of sympathy for guys getting busted. If my dream job told me I couldn't eat Lucky Charms I'd grumble about it to my co-workers, say it's complete BS and rally the rest of the employees to tell the powers that be that they need to change that rule. And I'd still stay 100 feet from the cereal aisle when I go shopping.
  6. Using the figures after Nunez was traded. Nunez had one decent year in 2015 prior to the Twins shipping him out, should the Twins ship out Escobar this year he was decent 3 of the past 4 years of track record for the Twins to show other teams as a floor.
  7. It is a career year, but unlike Nunez, four of Escobar's past five seasons have been solid or better. The chances that the bottom falls out on Escobar is probably much less. I'd think that's also supported by the fact that while Nunez's on base skills have been decreasing, Escobar's have been improving each year. But I'd still trade him if they can get a decent piece or two. If the team likes him as much as the fans do, I'm sure they can fit a contract offer into their 2019 payroll which currently projects to be about $45M.
  8. Neither Dozier nor Escobar are likely worth 17M and I'd guess the team wouldn't offer them the QO. But the team could probably offer it to both of them and still struggle to meet an $80M payroll. Deals that are perceived as more favorable to the players doesn't necessarily make them bad deals if your team can't spend the money anyway. I hope the team keeps that in mind this offseason, not just for their own players but all free agents.
  9. Well deserved kudos to Jose Berrios and Eddie Rosario on their All Star nods! Sorry, excuse me one moment folks my producer is whispering something in my ear. How's that again? I'm not wrong, you're wrong; check again. Hmmmmmmm...... Well deserved kudos to Jose Berrios on his All Star nod!
  10. I thought people were interested in Jax because his situation was a bit of an oddity. I didn't think he profiled to be much more than a swing man at best. I just remember he didn't have great strikeout numbers despite coming from a rather weak conference. What is it about this guy everyone likes?
  11. It was originally listed as 13.8? That just so happens to be what Jordan Balazovic is posting. An Easter Egg for #25 perhaps?
  12. I believe the Astros also sent Grossman packing when he had an option left. JD Martinez definitely did. Mostly I just like when the Twins aren't on the thrifty end of the "cash considerations" deals.
  13. Sometime this year almost surely. Sure would be interesting if the Twins starting OF ended up including this guy and Cave. The PCL likely inflates his numbers a bit but it looks like he knows how to draw a walk which is basically Grossman's only skill. Swap them out now as far as I'm concerned.
  14. We all get how this works, trades are an unpredictable endeavor. However, this team should be moving at least a half dozen players this summer most of which will bring back returns ranges from "OK, I can live with that" to "Not another Cash Considerations or a PTBNL!!!". Gibson's the only one with potential to increase his value to something substantial. Unless they do nothing they should be flooded with more organizational filler than they can handle. They wouldn't be risking much to roll the dice that Gibson doesn't blow out his arm in the next three months.
  15. In my view this team needs to be taking more high-reward type risks. I mean if Gibson can bring back a pretty dang good haul now I'm fine with a July deal, but if we're talking about a Stephen Gonsalves type return, eh, I don't think your risking much by waiting. 90% of the board was fine passing on Jose De Leon when Dozier was peaking as well. But again, I'm only trading Gibson assuming this team isn't going to be a legit contending next year. My first preference is they make the changes needed to do so.
  16. I agree, but I wouldn't be surprised if other teams tried to place his value using his spotty history. If so, I'd hang on to him and look to move him in the offseason after a full year of proving his worth (fingers crossed) or hang on to him if they are ready for a managerial overhaul in 2019 and another stab at contention.
  17. Most of these guys all have frustratingly low trade value, but this is a bonanza compared to the absolute dearth of tradable assets in Gardenhire's final years when one could only find a Justin Morneau sapped of nearly all utility as a firstbaseman or a clearly lost and flailing Francisco Liriano to move. We're not finding franchise altering trade pieces to shop, but the fact that there are 7 listed players plus an "others" section shows that the teams Gardenhire was losing with were much more devoid of talent than the one that Molitor is losing with.
  18. Two wrongs don't make a right. But I guess in this case three do?
  19. I checked: Double negative verdict - Unnecessary but accurate and acceptable. Statement verdict - Unnecessary and unacceptable but accurate.
  20. I wonder how that conversation goes when you pull your healthy starter who's cruising after 72 pitches? I also wonder how the conversation goes after the reliever who's been running on fumes for a month gives up a meatball HR?
  21. Pretty sure the pitchers claim it is during contract negation.
  22. That's cheating, I've been through Wyoming and they only have one city. If you don't fill up your tank in Nebraska you're going to have a long walk.
  23. That would make some sense if that interpretation is accurate.
  24. I like the improvements from the starting pitchers, specifically the strikeout numbers. Anyone involved with that accomplishment gets kudos from me. I'm not much impressed with anything else. What puzzles me is why they've clearly tried to increase the velocity and strikeouts with the starters but continue to go out of their way to avoid that with the bullpen additions. Also, I really don't like this Falvine stuff, these are two different people and I don't think they really had more than a casual relationship prior to their hirings. I don't know, and I'm not sure if anyone as a fan knows, what responsibilities each have, but we should. If Levine isn't getting the job done, he should go. In my opinion he should be on a short leash if he's doing most of the traditional GM duties. These aren't the Wonder Twins, one isn't required for the other to be effective.
