  1. Because everyone wanted to go home sooner?
  2. You'll be sorry if you keep spilling all of our secrets!
  3. I called this one. Belisle left town with all the company secrets.
  4. I don't think he was a projected top ten round talent was he? I don't think he got screwed over or anything, he was probably looking at that figure regardless who drafted him or when but at least now gets to wear getting picked in the 8th round as a badge of honor.
  5. Yeah, all the fun goes out of classic movie quotes when you inspect their inherent misogyny.
  6. My take away wasn't that anyone claimed to have any answers, yet. But they had top men working on it right now. Top....men.
  7. 4:10 AZ is dinner time. They're all old farts down there.
  8. I got a good feeling about this one. I think Belisle may have only signed a minor league deal with them and stunk it up so he could get released and return to Minnesota with all their secrets.
  9. I think that diminishing velocity likely had a lot to do with why Reed looked like a steal despite his past results. If he was throwing 95-97 even with slightly inferior stats, he likely would have had other teams lining up to pay him more. The Twins rightfully were applauded for making a ton of offseason moves, but nearly all were considered bargains. Now with all the data readily available to all teams it's not like the Twins can see something that other teams don't. I think the Twins are going to have to realize that waiting for bargains isn't the way to go, they're going to have to start overpaying for the guys who are truly difference makers.
  10. He's managing for the Red Sox DSL team. If he was a good influence on Sano, too bad he's not managing the Red Sox FSL team; he'd be in Ft. Myers then too.
  11. This team could really use Gardy back. Really only to lose his temper and get tossed once in awhile. At least that's entertaining to watch.
  12. Has anyone considered putting all the batters in the bullpen and put the bullpen guys in the lineup?
  13. Probably would have been shorter but he was stalling knowing what the bullpen was about to do.
  14. Geez fine, I can read between the lines. Pressly can pitch every day if that's what you really want.
  15. Inspiring? Yeah might be time to give that a try. Public humiliation sure hasn't been working.
  16. Belisle = worth every penny.
  17. Wow, I would have never guessed Grossman had that strong of an arm!
  18. Is that a female veterinarian? She should consider putting him down.
  19. I will regret this period if they don't put an honest effort into getting better players, but I won't regret Verlander; just no chance he'd agree to come here when Houston was calling and a significantly better situation. I didn't want Gerrit Cole, but only because I hated his sinker usage and thought he'd stink in the AL. I was wrong on that one and he's basically dropped that pitch! I was much more bullish on Darvish and trading for Chris Archer. You guys think teams vet Twins Daily archives when they interview you for a GM gig?
  20. Geez, says the guy who also choose Texas over Minnesota! My guess is after global warming finally stops making it snow in Minnesota in May and when the American coastline has disappeared enough putting Minneapolis right on a sandy beach on the East Coast. Sorry St. Paul, nice knowing ya.
  21. Yeah, too much group think in rankings. Each independent evaluator that makes a public list can say they made a list based strictly on their own opinion, but I wouldn't believe them. If one of them says a guy can't stick at SS or hit an inside fastball or has an arm too weak for RF, it spreads like wildfire. Not that these guys are totally at fault, there's no way everyone can see enough of each and every one of these guys to make an informed opinion. They have to rely on others. Each MLB team has dozens of scouts each watching a small region of players, the publications don't have nearly those resources.
  22. Could be. I'm wondering what Gardy would have to say about Delmon Young these days. The collusion case against MLB in the late 80's saw lots of good players get screwed out of contracts as owners tried to keep salaries down. It seemed in Kingman's case they were bound to keep him from joining the vaunted 500 HR club.
  23. Wow, I think that was the first time anyone referred to Dave Kingman as "awesome"! I've always heard stories that he was traded by the Mets in 1977 (and the Angels and released by the Padres all in the same year) for being notoriously not awesome!
  24. I think you just shut him down once he starts getting fatigued early and it alters his mechanics. That is assuming plenty of people inside and outside of the dugout are keeping a close eye on his mechanics.
  25. Possibly not, his previous hamstring issue might be. The power looked to be nearly gone, maybe that was due to his biceps issue though.
