  1. Tortoises can live to be over a hundred years old, so I'm not sure if there are any concrete records, but I thought I heard it was Hemingway.
  2. I see he's hanging out in the Budweiser beer garden deck. Is he even old enough to get up there?
  3. Well with Kohl Stewart pitching yesterday, this would make some sense. Man, the way this team is playing right now, it would be absolutely fantastic if the good vibes rub off on the young fireballer. It's been over a decade since this team had a legit pitching prospect come up and actually be a positive contributor. While it would likely only be a spot start, I've been thinking lately that since he's using mostly a four seamer and slider combo, Michael Pineda might actually be a pretty good pitcher out of the pen and that's perhaps where his future will be anyway.
  4. Not sure about #3, I don't value Will Smith like others here, and Rooker has long been one of my favorites, that that doesn't sound right for the Giants. Not really any upside players and two of them are AAAA type players who require 40 man spots with Adrianza also out of options. With his good defense, their large OF dimensions and a glimmer of hope with his bat, I could see the Giants actually valuing Cave more than other clubs and perhaps more than Twins fans though. I don't see Adrianza having much appeal to rebuilding teams either. If anyone would want him, I'd think it would be a contending team that is desperate for MI depth. Rebuilding teams would probably prefer to let their version of Nick Gordon or Luis Arraez take their lumps in a down year.
  5. It's starting to look like it's going to be a disappointing end to what three years ago looked like a great story for Hildenberger. Still, even it he doesn't get another shot, overall it was pretty good run for a guy drafted in the 22nd round.
  6. There doesn't seem to be any obvious answers outside of spycake; however, depending on the person, I've found giving someone added responsibility often gets the person to sand off many of their rough edges all on their own. I'm not sure we can definitively identify which posters would do that, but I'd guess most names already thrown out here would understand being a moderator comes with greater expectations of performance and compliance.
  7. One more year of arbitration, so he'll be here in 2020 if the team still wants him. Same with Blake Parker. Add in Martin Perez's and Nelson Cruz's club options, it looks like they did pretty well.
  8. These gentlemen are fun to watch even when they don’t score 14 runs.
  9. Wow, did that one in slow mo. If that’s not broken, then he’s Gumby. Ish, good luck to him; hope it looked worse than it is.
  10. Crazy theory: winning is great for business!
  11. I got a couple more. You think you can make it to Fargo if this game goes 10 innings?
  12. You want to get rid of Rogers? I think you’d have 29 teams lining up for him.
  13. Sooooo, what were the Cubs doing wrong with this guy? Did they have him batting one handed?
  14. Excellent, that’s the exact number of outs I hope we need. No more, no less.
  15. Should his BABIP be .250? I’m legit asking because I got no clue with his unique profile. Seems if .300 is the expected BABIP, that should be near exactly his average.
  16. Thinking about some of his recent op-eds, it’s possible he misremembered and thought his last name was Actually.
  17. Also, DocBauer has seemed to be a reasonable and much more frequent contributor lately.
  18. Yeah I was hoping the Twins would treat 1B as a 2nd DH spot and just sign the best possible offensive players for both 1B and DH. I was feeling OK, not great about Cron and Cruz. Turns out they might have signed the best possible offensive talents after all. They just so happened to play 1B and DH.
  19. Yeah, nice list Diehard. At one point I wanted just about everyone on that list. Funny thing though, of the top tier guys, the two I least wanted were Ottavino due to his long history of control problems and Britton as he had fallen back on what I felt was an outdated sinker and was putting the ball in play too much. I usually laugh at myself when i'm completely wrong, but it stings a bit when it ends up being the Yankees who somehow had it right.
