  1. Sano wanted to change the conversation I guess.
  2. Ovaltang, it’s a thing according to google: https://www.google.com/amp/s/thesurfingpizza.com/2010/06/08/the-surfing-pizza-invents-ovaltang/amp/
  3. I’d like Syndergaard, but that team would be crazy to trade him. He’s at a low point, and while they can still demand a value based on prior history, his value will more than likely increase if he returns to form. But that’s not even the biggest reason; the team isn’t winning now, but they have a really good club and should be a favorite next year. Aside from deGrom and Syndergaard, their pen is stacked, even if the biggest names are struggling now. Their lineup is full of young controllable studs in Alonso, McNeil, Conforto, Nimmo and Rosario, vets Ramos, Cano will be back and they have a fantastic expendable trade chip in former top prospect Dom Smith. If this was the Twins, we’d be losing our minds if they went into sell mode. Though we’d probably be screaming for a new GM and manager.
  4. I want another starter, but Boyd is about the last of the available guys I want, I think he's a total mirage. Or was a mirage at least, I think the facade is already coming down. Does he still come at a premium price now that he hasn't allowed fewer than 3 ER in any of his last 8 starts and has given up multiple HR in five of those appearances?
  5. I'm not as big on Bumgarner as some, but sometimes those types of pitchers find a second wind. Also, if Carl Pavano can energize a club house after an August deadline trade, I'd think a big name Bumgarner would really get the other players pumped up. Not my first choice, but I could see some intangible benefits if nothing else.
  6. I'm willing to part with big time prospects, but I don't see any Cliff Lee-in-his-prime types available this year. The Twins find themselves contending in an unfortunate year where nearly all the best pitchers are already on playoff contending teams. Of the rumored starters available, only Syndergaard gets me thinking happy front of the rotation thoughts. I'd still like to figure something out. I like but don't love Bumgarner, but getting a big name (even if he doesn't provide big results anymore) may have a positive even if incalculable psychological impact on the club.
  7. I’d include Kirilloff for Syndergaard without thinking twice. The Twins have corner bats coming out of their ears, and don’t have any room for them at the MLB level as it is.
  8. If I recall correctly, the Mets were unwilling to include Mike Pelfrey.
  9. I just realized my posts keep landing above the mid-thread ads. For awhile there I thought I drank too much and changed my signature to promote Ethan Allen for some reason.
  10. You mean Beethoven at the mall? Was Carole one the the jazzercise women Joan of Arc was instructing?
  11. What’s with the ‘we’ stuff? I had no part of that!
  12. You sure you’re not thinking of a Whitesnake video?
  13. He might have, his vault of unreleased music is supposedly infinite.
  14. I wouldn't trade much for him, but he's now dropped the sinker which it appeared Pittsburgh insisted he start using despite it not being a regular pitch for him in the past. I think he has a shot to be a good bounce back guy in the right hands. Not sure those hands are the Twins, but maybe. I've never been a big Sonny Gray fan, but that contract looks fairly nice, I might be able to be convinced that his struggles were all NY related. But the Reds just extend him, I'd think they might not even offer him up. I do like Anthony Desclafani though.
  15. Tuned in at the exact right time!
  16. Pass on Diekman, but I've had my eye on Elias all year. Good velocity and I always like those former starters turned relievers, he should be able to go multiple innings when needed. I'm often on an island as far as preferred pitchers go, but he's much closer to the top of my wish list than he is to the bottom.
  17. Whaaaa?!? Was he trying to catch it with his cup?! Show off. Anyone have a velocity reading on Cody Allen yet? I have no interest until/unless he starts hitting 94-95 again.
  18. You need to go a bit further left. And for what it's worth, I'm A OK with subpar defense if the trade off is above average offense. But I wouldn't go out of my way to put those defenders in position to have to make MORE plays.
  19. Plus, your ERA doesn't take a hit when your groundballs are routinely butchered by the left side of your infield.
  20. I think he's probably toast, but I'll wait until I hear some velocity readings. If he can somehow get back to 94-96ish where he used to have success, I'll probably be interested in giving him a shot.
  21. Could it be that they just want to rest him, but don’t need 10 days and a hard fall provides ample cover to use the 7 day concussion IL instead? Probably not, but that’s my hope.
  22. The Twins would be thrilled if we all considered them a start up company in need of grants, pro bono work and every bit of public financial assistance available.
  23. And both Rochester games he pitched in the 6th inning, not late inning situations and not the opener bit we often see high profile MLB arms get when they want to ensure they get some work in prior to a call up. He was used similarly in Ft. Myers. It almost looks like a confidence building situation.
