  1. Agree. He's likely almost exclusively there for his presence in the QB room. Still, no other team wanted him for that role?
  2. So who had John Wolford on their back-up QB bingo card? I'm guessing no one. He wasn't on anyone's practice squad and hasn't appeared in a game since 2022. Very odd choice. I presume this means Brosmer is and was always going to be the number 2. Otherwise the Vikings would have had their choice of the top practice squad QBs.
  3. So looking at the last two games I think it was predictable what the Eagles and Chargers were going to do, then they did the complete opposite. The Vikings prepared to stop the run and spy Hurts all game. And Hurts had -10 yards rushing somehow, so, mission accomplished? Aside from the Eagles deciding that was the game they'd air it out. Then the Chargers game; a depleted and bad run blocking OL and the third string RB is starting. The most dangerous thing about the Chargers is Herbert's arm. So of course he only throws for 227 yards while running for 62 since the Vikings had everyone back in coverage and there were holes up the middle. And the backup RB has a field day. So what happened to the defense? I'd say the other teams anticipated what the Vikings were going to try to do and out-schemed them.
  4. Right, a backup QB ASKING to come out? I don't care if they have blue tents on the sidelines and take players out for suspected concussions now; asking out when you're a fringe player still is the fastest way to being blackballed and unemployed.
  5. I mean ideally you'd get a backup that would also be a coveted starter, but that tends to only happen with the reclamation projects. Not sure there are any Darnold/Jones/Jones types floating around next year. If Zach Wilson already got passed by Quinn Ewers on the depth chart, I'm guessing he's just really, really, really bad. If we're talking Wentz vs Cooper Rush, Gardner Minshew or Tyrod Taylor, I'm past the point of having a strong opinion on the matter.
  6. Seems everything about Minnesota sports is always lesser stage. Which I suppose to our Minnesota players still makes it their biggest stage.
  7. Ouch. Wentz clearly wants to stick around in the league. Playing through that probably will make him a more coveted backup than throwing for 300 yards. Honestly, I didn't care much for Wentz, and I'm an NDSU fan. In the past every interview he gave was full of so much Bible thumping and phony humility I couldn't take it. But since he's been starting, I didn't hear any of either of those things. And he played through a broken and torn up shoulder? I guess he's matured a bit. Kudos.
  8. Same. I also previously thought they were fine.
  9. This might be tough to watch. I somehow feel bad for both McCarthy and Wentz. Never thought I'd feel bad for either this season. This competitive rebuild stuff is nonsense. You're either a contender or your not. Being 'competitive' is vague and almost always used hyperbolically. Even the Jets are saying they're competitive.
  10. Yeah, it was classless by Herbstreit. Since Wentz is no Randy Moss, it won't be remembered like Joe Buck's self righteous indignation from 20 years ago, but it was just as sanctimonious.
  11. Enough of this tangent, back on topic. Sorry I participated.
  12. Sure, a war criminal puppet, working at the behest of the wealthy men, such as those who own the NFL teams. She's not in office, nor does she pull those antics if those guys aren't bankrolling her and her cabal so that they will do their bidding.
  13. It will be uniform when they stop playing around and have every pitch called by ABS, not just the challenges. Half measures are frustrating, but I get it; too many fans hate any kind of change so they have to ease into it. Once we're done with pitch-framing all together, the game will improve though. Catchers can be better hitters if you don't have to also judge them on the silly skill of fooling umpires, and the pitchers who are best at hitting the zone (or intentionally not hitting it should that be their prerogative), will be better rewarded; just like they always should be. Valuing catchers on pitch framing is like valuing politicians on their deftness at lying. Yeah, it's part of the game right now, but we'd all be better off without it.
  14. Well they were supposed to invoke memories of Rodger’s early years.
  15. I’m no fan, but with all awful billionaires owing teams, she doesn’t even register. I can’t imagine she can come close to out villainizing Woody Johnson, Jimmy Haslem, Michael Bidwell, David Tepper, or their deluded and deranged leader, Jerry Jones.
  16. So Lamar Jackson is out again. Seemed like he was close to returning for the Ravens all week. Of course that means he'll return just in time to face the Vikings in Week 9. Despite what most fans think, some years things do break well for the Vikings. But in the years they don't, they break really bad. Seems to be one of those years.
  17. I’ll take the guy with the career .940 OPS* at shortstop. No one’s voting for Miguel Sano?! *2010-2011 MiLB
  18. Strong possibility the Vikings will not be favored in another game this year. If Jackson is still somehow out, then they will vs Baltimore. Maybe home vs Washington, but not if the Vikings are on a seven game losing streak.
  19. Also supports local working class ladies in third world countries if memory serves. I kid. I actually have an old Klewe jersey.
  20. What’s the highest percentage of QB hits per drop backs in a game?
  21. That might have been the stupidest non-whistle I’ve never not heard.
  22. Did they just throw a pass to a guy I’ve never heard of?
  23. Yeah, because of an ankle sprain? Wentz has been twice as injured this whole time. McCarthry should have been playing at minimum two weeks ago.
  24. Wentz as the backup isn’t the problem. Hes a fine backup, because they’re all mostly not capable of leading a winning team. This team just will not commit to doing what it takes to find a top tier QB. They’d rather be average forever than be bad to eventually get good.
  25. He just got traded back to KC?
