  1. Okert and Jackson are the two I'd get rid of first. I'm not protecting Thielbar just because he's a 'legacy' player, but unlike those two, his velocity hasn't decreased this year, which makes me think he's the more likely of the three to pick up the pace. But yeah, let's not sweat losing (and paying) these gray beards at the cost of keeping the best players on the team.
  2. Real excited. He's my #2 prospect after Jenkins due to his high ceiling. His progression and stats look almost identical to last year's #1 prospect and ROY Gunnar Henderson, even down to the age 21 batting average spike upon moving to AA. It would be great to see a late season MLB promotion too.
  3. That newspaper article from the same day made it sound like it was near hurricane level wind. Those outfield seats didn't sound terribly pleasant to sit in!
  4. I'm not a sentimental guy so Thielbar can go as far as I'm concerned, but unlike Jackson and Okert, he's maintained his velocity from last year, so from my view, those two are more likely to be washed up. Relievers are so flakey, it's hard to tell who's no longer effective and who's just being hit by small sample sizes.
  5. I would not. This looks pretty similar to Jax and Rogers and Duffey and May. If anything, I think this just shows to keep doing this with the fringe, back-end starting pitchers in the system.
  6. I think the depth additions were responsible for the early season losses. The system players seem to be carrying the team at the moment.
  7. The Twins built up lots of relief pitching depth, with both guys who were and were not on the 40 man roster. What was the point of getting all of those non-40 man arms if they aren't willing to DFA some of the 40-man arms? Sorry, Funderburk is the only good lefty in the pen now, make the 'tough' decision on somebody else. Both Okert and Jackson have seen velocity declines and Jackson in particular seems very flash-in-the-pan type. He's constantly putting guys on base, this isn't a high ceiling loss risk. You can pick up a guy like Okert or Jackson via waiver or cash-consideration trade later if needed, just start ripping the band aids on these guys now instead of demoting the guys who are actually contributing.
  8. Yeah, they got all fat and sassy, like pigs to the slaughter.
  9. I just remember my mom giggling uncontrollably at his name, she thought he sounded like a cartoon character. I had my parents watch Moneyball decades later and she said, "It was THAT guy?!?!?"
  10. Wow, the White Sox doubled their win total since the Twins saw them last. Time for a REAL team to put them back in their place.😀
  11. I've been thinking about the idea of drafting a kicker, and I think I'm good doing it if you can get one of the top college kickers in the 6th or 7th. I'd guess most of the players drafted in the 6th or 7th you could get as UDFAs anyway, but the top guys at this position will get drafted.
  12. I did read one theory that quick and long players are what will be needed for the new kickoff rules. Maybe drafted entirely to be a special teams player?
  13. This CB is a giant. 6’4”? That’s pretty rare.
  14. After watching O ‘Neal get smoked by top pass rushers last year, I wonder if he’d ever get moved inside. Not that finding a starting tackle at this point in the draft is a reasonable idea.
  15. Well looks like there might be some guys I'm still familiar with and fond of sitting there for the Vikings to grab. I'm not sure an O'Connell offense has much room for a 3rd WR, but those are fun picks. I thought Troy Franklin was a late 1st early 2nd so he'd seem to be a steal. I also like Javon Baker and Malik Washington. The one guy I may like most is Jacob Cowling but he's down a lot of lists so he might even be available later. He looks like an electric slot guy that could immediately relieve Brandon Powell of his duties. Anias Smith would be another slot guy I see way down on most lists that could fill that role. So if the slot guy is a target, maybe they still wait, though I guess they don't have a 5th round pick. My preferred roster spot is interior OL, and Sataoa Laumea is a guy I like and called for back yesterday. But Sederick Van Pran-Granger (can't wait to see that on the back of a jersey!!!) might be a great center. DL would be my second spot to hit and Mekhi Wingo (John Randal type?) and Brandon Dorlus (Everson Griffen type?) sound like the overlooked athletic freak kind of players that tend to do really well for this franchise. Wingo obviously has the better name. With 3/4 defense, DL guys do seem like a spot that needs to be hit early in a draft to find actual impact players though, so it might be a 'next year' kind of situation. But it is the 4th round, so I'm OK conceding a CB to you guys should that finally transpire.
  16. Right, Buxton probably barely cracks the top ten things to complain about on this team.
  17. See the Strikeout Always philosophy is a solid plan!!!
  18. Dang, MarShawn Lloyd was one of my favorite RBs and the Packers got him. Not that I was aiming for the Vikings to take a RB any time soon. And the Packers have a crowded backfield already.
  19. Man, I had seen Troy Franklin as high as the #5 WR on a lot of boards. NFL teams must really not believe in him.
  20. Nope, calling it now. Santna has 12, Trout a measly 11.
  21. Who had Santana out homering Trout this series?
  22. Well as offensive heavy the 1st round was, the 2nd round is even more defensive heavy.
  23. I get the joke, that makes me sophisticated right?
