  1. Yeah, Twins and Vikings games they do have people at the stations. Probably T'Wolves too.
  2. The green line is the light rail line running from Target Field to downtown St. Paul.
  3. Save your money. Only suckers pay to ride the light rail.
  4. They have a trust metric too. (number of grey hairs + seasons on the team - sausage throws)/AARP fee.
  5. I mean, Thielbar gave up no ER, he's got to be feeling pretty good about that outing right?
  6. My second favorite way to use Thielbar, after 'not at all'.
  7. Yup, great spot to both shake off the rust and build confidence.
  8. Team MVP at this point. If they keep winning, that 'team' part might be in consideration of being removed.
  9. I remember thinking the same thing about Deduno, I thought he had some upside. But looking back on it, it was probably just due to the company he was keeping. That was some wretched starting pitching the Twins put together in that era. Cole DeVries, Scott Diamond, Nick Blackburn, PJ Walters, Liam Hendricks, Vance Worley (sorry Vanimal!), Mike Pelfrey, Pedro Hernandez and the husks for Francisco Liriano and Carl Pavano? Ouch, yeah, comparatively he did look pretty good!
  10. I don't think the Twins are getting the Rays 4M and another 4M from the Dodgers. The players don't get paid up front, they get paychecks as the season goes along. Margot is still owed 12M this year and next, the only part of his tab that's been paid is the month he's owed this year. The Twins are basically holding the funds from the Dodgers in escrow, I think it would have been reported had they actually gotten 8M from the Dodgers.
  11. As much as I want Margot to be Margone, my math says with his 10M salary in 2024, 2M 2025 buyout minus the 4M the Dodgers sent the Twins, means the Twins would be eating 8M. Not only does that insanely make him the most expensive player on this list, but the most expensive acquisition this offseason. With their self imposed budget constraints I have no idea how this lunacy occurred, but I'd guess his salary actually makes him the LEAST likely to be DFA'd. These low-end veteran acquisitions kill this club every year. How long before they finally learn from these follies?
  12. Don't forget about Pedro Florimon, who's career was sadly cut much too short......due to a complete lack of offense.
  13. Carl's back in control via spiritual possession? Got to agree, that is the most practical explanation for the events of this past off season.
  14. I had the opposite take, though also just speculation. Jim Pohlad had been the most free spending Pohlad owner by far, so my assumption was that the rest of the clan shooed him out and installed fiscally conservative Joe to make sure the ROI on Papa Carl's investment kept rising to expectations.
  15. You do understand you're complaining about no longer having a place to stable your horse because all of your neighbors bought automobiles right? We're asking for the cobblestones to be paved so we can all use this new technology, we have no interest in mounting a saddle again. The new option is and will be better once the infrastructure is in place, which would have happened years ago had the bigwigs not been all consumed by the profits dangled by those selling horses.
  16. Yeah, I'll bet the old wealthy white dudes who knew how to profit their businesses via railroad services gnashed their teeth and shook their fists at Henry Ford too. I in no way think Twins leadership is capable of evolving on their own. They're going to have to pick the right industry leaders to mimic and hope they picked correctly.
  17. If they want to find a way to keep the sport alive, they do need to find a way to get it automatically included in Apple/Amazon/Whatever giant wide-spread streamer package. Casual fans aren't going to go out of their way to get MLBTV. As it is, $20/mo is a better start than whatever cable costs these days.
  18. Obviously you get better value with streaming. You can cancel and subscribe for a month any time you please with the streamers. A new season of Program X starts up again, you pay two months for that streamer. The Diamondbacks are playing? You pay $20 for six months instead of for 12 months, locked in. If the average monthly streamer is $15/mo, you'd need to have 10 of them to match what you're paying for in cable. In my house, I doubt we've ever had more than 5 at a time.
  19. The Diamondbacks are only charging 19.99 per month for their DBacks.TV option. 39.99 if the user wanted to package that with the rest of MLB.TV games. https://www.12news.com/article/sports/mlb/diamondbacks/how-to-watch-arizona-diamondbacks-games-tv-and-streaming-2024-season/75-c5b07291-9bd7-4d7c-b308-13719ef2d0b7 But we're followers, not innovators up here in Minnesota. Can't try something new, have to follow along with what the other kids are doing.
  20. That seems pretty unfair. I couldn't justify paying for both cable AND the streaming services that my wife and kids wanted. Nobody else in my house will watch a second of sports unless Taylor Swift pops on screen for five seconds. Paying cable $120/month just to watch the Twins? Terribly sorry, please accept my apology for choosing the option that 4/5ths of my family wanted but the incompetent MLB owners are unable to reconcile.
  21. For billionaires, short term money is better than long term money. Money on hand now can make so much more money for a billionaire. It's why the Bobby Bonilla contract has been laughed at for the last three decades. If Joe Pohlad were offered 5B now but it would guarantee the game would be extinct in 15 years, or offered 15B stretched out over 15 years, he'd take the first option every time. Jim might not have. He was by far my favorite Pohlad owner thus far. But that's probably why he's no longer in charge. They voted him off the island.
  22. *******Moderator Note****** I know it is only fair that the Pohlad's and Bally end up penniless on the streets some day, but please refrain from posting your favorite pirating methods. No judgments if you do so (I mean, other than possibly an actual judge) but TD doesn't want to be involved with spreading back-alley solutions.
