  1. Maybe the LVP award needs codifying. Something like a minimum of 3 or more major league seasons and over 300 plate appearances as a batter or 50 innings as a pitcher during the season. Got to at have played enough to have made a difference.
  2. I wonder how Cholowski compares to Bobbby Witt at a similar time? I could stand the Twins drafting a Bobby Witt type player.
  3. I agree. I would add "with good knowledge of the strike zone".
  4. Did Funderburk make his changes and improvements after he came up at the end of the season or before at Triple A? I'd like to acknowledge the coach who worked with him to make those improvements.
  5. I think by the end of next year Keaschall could be at first base and Lee at second. Lee has shown the skills to be a decent second baseman. I don't know that Keaschall gets any better to be a full time second baseman and the Twins will need a first baseman. Hopefully Culpepper makes the transition to the majors by mid summer.
  6. However if someone tells you can spend a certain amount, which no one knows what that was, and you start to spend an increase amount while trying to sign free agents and then they jerk the carpet out from under you, then you are stuck with a poor and out of balanced roster and seemingly high payroll.
  7. For now I would place Keaschall and Martin 1,2 in next years order. Maybe Buxton third. it would be nice to have more positions set in the batting order.
  8. Did either Cleveland or Milwaukee have a sudden 40% cut in team payroll? With ownership talking about right sizing and selling the team?
  9. I'd rank the Twins last because of horrendous ownership. That was a category not listed at all. Who wants a job where the team payroll can change by leaps and bounds to which the manager has no control over but will be held accountable for the ensuing failure sure to follow. Yes there are only thirty of these jobs but the Twins would easily rank last because of this one factor.
  10. I've dreamed of being a billionaire. There goes that hypothesis.
  11. They got another baseball season for that to change.
  12. There is a very ugly face in the middle of this article that needs to be removed.
  13. Foe those people who automatically say no to Mendez, don't forget that the Twins will need a first baseman next year. Clements is not the answer he already has proven that his entire career. The only other options being offered are at prices that the Twins are not going to afford. Somebody raise their hand if they are certain the Twins will spend $15 million or more for a free agent first baseman or any other position. They may get a better first base prospect in a trade for one of Lopez or Ryan but other than that I don't see why not put Mendez at first and let him have a shot at making the majors. Does someone really think the Twins are going to the playoffs next year or beating out Cleveland, Detroit or Kansas City? They will probably have their handful just trying to stay ahead of Chicago.
  14. Firing. the owners would have been something meaningful.
  15. I think the percentage of end of year 40 man squad members remaining by the first game of next year might be around 60%. Anybody have a better guess?
  16. Wallner reminds me of a young Schwarber. I suspect very few teams would want a young Schwarber right now but none would turn down a hitter with 56 homers and 132 RBI's. Will Wallner ever have those kind of stats? Probably not but maybe.
  17. He always has an obp over 400. Doesn't matter what level or how injured he is.
  18. I did not know that Buxton's no trade deal change after2026. I wonder what team's are on his list. It definitely makes it more likely that he will be traded this winter. Since he has more options about where he won't go.
  19. I doubt there are any front offices that "like" no trade agreements. They don't want them for the same reason that players do.
