  1. I think the Twins will have to be at the top of their game to finish 4th in the division. This roster won 't be winning many games next October. I would prefer that they bring along some of those pitchers not making the rotation as bullpen pieces so they can learn which of their pitches work at the major league level. There can be a place where they bring the 13 best pitchers to the majors at the end of March. Bullpen pitchers don't have to be restricted to 1 inning.
  2. I think the way that Tom has run roughshod over people in the organization that we have seen, leads me to believe that he has been the heat behind multiple bad decisions the last several years if not longer. I'm sure his fingerprints are on the decisions following the 2023 season. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't the one behind the $500 million in loans attached to the Twins balance sheet.
  3. I wonder if the Twins inability to have young guys launch at the majors has anything to do with these rankings. Year after year the Twins bring up their top prospects and get nothing.
  4. Since Ohl and Adams were the two guys the Twins brought up from the minors to show their stuff the last 60 games last year, what does that say about the time it will take to bring guys out of the minors for the bullpen this year. This does show what a waste of time the year end was in 2025.
  5. I think you lined them up just about right. Although I prefer that they all be replaced by better players by the end of the spring.
  6. There are a lot of youngsters on this site who don't realize that pitchers came to the majors as relievers and had to earn their stripes as bullpen pieces. Generally you knew the pitcher was going to be offered a starter role some day when he got to start the second game of a Twinbill. Of course pitchers didn't get injured as often then.
  7. I expect both Ryan and Lopez to be gone by '28. While Hill could be up for some innings in '27, '28 will probably be the year that Hill, Soto and Quick will be fighting to get in the rotation, although Quick could see major league time in 2027.
  8. I would like to see Tait as our most rounded catching prospect since Joe Mauer came along. I'm hoping he'll be ready to start at catcher at the beginning of 2028, but sometime mid season that year would be good. I also hope our player development department has gained strength by then. Like most everyone else, I'm tired of seeing promising players fall flat.
  9. I'd like to see Gonzalez get some major league play this year instead of languishing at the 3A. The team needs bats and they really need to find out if these kids WILL HIT at the major league level.
  10. Obviously Joe wanted a different model than most of the other family members. I expect the team to follow the don't spend don't really try to compete model. Give the money to the poor owners.
  11. I wish him the best. I hope he finds his discipline and focus.
  12. Plus a good high level minor league pitcher.
  13. I think at this time I would look at the top ten players available regardless of position. I think the Twins get too locked in at looking for the best short stop available. So far that has not worked out too well for them. They really need hitting so I would lean towards the best hitters available unless another Paul Skenes falls to them.
  14. I could see Jeffer's playing first base 70-80 games, along with about 50 games at catcher. Keep Jackson and Susac sharing catching duties and Jeffer's to play about a third of the schedule. That 1/3 for Jeffer's may trickle down towards the end of next year.
  15. I am on the "we'll know more after the owners meeting" boat. But then again I'm also on the "they'll go ahead and blow everything up boat". I just hope my two boats don't run into each other.
  16. I would love to see 2-3 players per year pushing for the major league roster over the next 5 years. And probably beyond that.
  17. Unfortunately the Twins haven't done much in the way of player development in the past 20 years. I think the last era of developing two way players was the early 2000's.
  18. If we were going to open a spot for Jordan before the draft anyway to choose a relief pitcher we wanted more and were afraid of losing out on Jordan, just cut a trade for him.
  19. I just hope for a couple more Twins players earning pre-arb bonus next year.
  20. Besides a decent left field combination, they could fill the #2 spot in the order. Hoping that will insure better on base percentage and thus more base runners. However, Martin hit better against right hander's than did the left handed Roden. I expect Buxton will lead off again, although I would prefer him hitting third or fourth.
  21. They were also lucky to be able to unload Donaldson.
  22. I suspect that the Twins can't sign any free agent for a price they can get anyplace else. Which of course means they need to pay a premium. Secondly when their reputation was good, or at least ok, they still didn't sign Correa or Donaldson until near the end of spring training and they still paid a premium. And with that Correa still opted out after 1 year.
  23. Unfortunately for Pirates fans I doubt that Skenes will ever lead them anywhere. What ever high points he reaches will be with New York (2), Boston, or Los Angeles. So unless the 27 season. brings real changes to team payroll to balance up the game, Skenes won't bring playoff wins to Pittsburg, Shelton won't bring winning seasons to the Twins and we will continue to see the same half dozen teams dominate the playoffs in baseball.
