  1. I see that you've been taking history lessons from Riverbrian. As a history buff, I approve. As a German, I approve. Well done. Now which one of these steins was my beer and which was for urine...
  2. When Molitor was hired, I was in favor of hiring Dougie M. I wanted nothing to do with Molitor. Since then, I've been more interested in bringing someone from outside of the organization to be the next manager. However, since the guys making that decision are from outside of the organization, I'm not as firm on that. I think that I'd still prefer it, but if the new FO thinks that someone inside of the organization is a good fit, I wouldn't be opposed to that. Whoever it is, I want them to have experience in working and developing young players. I feel that is vitally important for a franchise in the state that they're in. I'd like them to have some discipline and accountability for the players. I don't see any of those qualities with the current manager. I'd prefer that person to have some managerial experience, or at least plenty of experience as a coach.
  3. I got 21/25. That was tougher than I figured once I got down to the last couple in the bullpen. I couldn't for the life of me come up with Centeno. That was fun!
  4. How long have you been sitting on that comment waiting to hit "Post"?
  5. I agree. It's unfortunate, for Mauer in particular, but it likely is the reality.
  6. He gone! Eventually anyway. I prefer sad Hawk over giddy Hawk even when they're not playing the Twins, but he does provide a unique flare for calling a game. It won't quite be like watching a Cubs game without Harry or the Dodgers without Scully, but something will be missing for sure.
  7. It'll be alright. They put ice on it.
  8. Yes, this team can with with Mauer and Dozier. As Chi pointed out, they're not the issue. If this team had even league average pitching they'd be sitting pretty nicely.
  9. Interesting. With some of the weird lineups Molitor has come up with lately, why not give it a try? What's the worst that can happen? They get 3 hits a game and shutout?
  10. I agree. Instead of letting relievers start their own innings, he brings them into jams all of the time. Allowing even the mediocre relievers to start their own inning decreases the odds of runs being scored. I realize that is going to happen, but it seems like Molitor likes to give that starter one more batter to start an inning more often than he should and now the reliever has to deal with at least one runner on base already.
  11. So you're saying that the first inning sacrifice should have been the manager?
  12. Kluber dominated again tonight.
  13. You still need to know what is going on to make sure all of the bases are covered. Swinging bunts happen at any time.
  14. Had me until you mentioned honest.
  15. Agreed, he was probably going to be safe anyway. Not having anyone covering 1B is clearly a mistake on someone's part though.
  16. Fair enough. Someone has to cover 1B on that play though. Mauer and Mejia both went for the ball. Somebody messed up.
  17. I'm not convinced of that at all considering how much dumb stuff Rosario does.
  18. Maybe if Dozier was hustling down the line instead of watching the ball he would have been safe.
  19. I told my wife that I wasn't aware that Sasquatch was pitching not more than two minutes ago!
  20. Why is it that the day after a Santana start, the TV crew has to put a mic on his head the next day and talk to him?
  21. Neither of those options are what I want near the mound for the twins at this point.
  22. Not only that, but it's the first inning. Keep the runner from advancing. Don't let this become a big inning by allowing runners to advance.
