  1. Nothing good ever comes of a strikeout. Even with double play, the ball is in play and anything can happen. That happens 0% of the time with a strikeout. Even on a K-PB/WP, that had nothing to do with the batter. Put the ball in play! Make the defense make the play. Double plays can kill rallies and/or minimize positive results but there are times when they can be productive nonetheless even if it is a small percentage. That small percentage is still above 0.
  2. I was hoping for Jamie Moyer...
  3. I've seen the club announcement and I'm still hoping to find out that it's April Fool's day. What a joke. This was my PG post because how I really feel about this will get me banned.
  4. Mauer to the DL, Vargas on his way back up.
  5. I wasn't ever an Arcia fan, but I don't feel he got a fair shake here. I do think the Twins made the correct decision in keeping Vargas instead though. I echo Vanimal in my frustration in watching him, both at the plate and in the field. He was one of those guys that I didn't really like but wanted him to prove me wrong because you could see what he could do to a baseball. He just never seemed to understand that there were other options other than a 700' longball.
  6. That's how I interpreted his words too. He's trying to get Buxton to square balls up more rather than popping them up or beating them into the ground like he had been doing for a while. I was saying the other day after watching Kepler hit another frozen rope over the outfield wall that it would be great if Buxton could start hitting line drives the way Kepler does when he's going good. Hopefully we're starting to see that ability develop more.
  7. When Bundy misses the plate, he really misses the plate.
  8. He has moments where he's pretty good. He also has moments when he's spewing nothing but BS. His explanation of Sano dropping the ball in the first was the latter.
  9. Wouldn't want to shut them down now would we...
  10. Good spot for Polanco to get off the schneid.
  11. Especially when he had to hold up to make sure it got through.
  12. This is some really ugly baseball so far.
  13. You're looking for more pro tips?
  14. Based on birdwatcher's comments, I guess we're doing it wrong. Try looking through the other end of the binoculars.
  15. Try zooming in on a bird book. Much more professional like.
  16. I would be in favor of bringing them up to get their feet wet. If they decide to move Santiago out of the rotation, whether it be back to the DL or something else, I'd like to see them bringing the kids up to fill that spot. It seems that Gibson is salvaging something, so I don't see them moving on from him yet. Any time a 5th starter is needed, I'd like that to go to one of the prospects too. Even if they're just getting spot starts at the big leagues, they're still being given a learning opportunity. There can't be anything wrong with that. They get a taste of what they're dream is and perhaps some pointers from the big league staff and/or veterans. In the meantime, if they're not on the major league roster I'd like to see them at AAA. I'm not sure they have much left to prove at AA. Get them some tougher competition to help reinforce the major league experience.
  17. I'm glad that you cleared that up. I'm only half confused now.!
  18. Not only that, but deal a pitching prospect to get him? That makes even less sense to me.
  19. Nice ceremony for Rod Carew before the game.
