  1. Dozier scratched tonight. Anyone have the scoop on that? He was originally in the lineup I believe. Edit: sore back apparently.
  2. Since I won't have a chance later, I just want to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July! I expect everyone to be typing with the same number of digits come Wednesday as they are today! Have a sober ride home too! Anyone have any cool and/or unusual 4th of July celebration traditions?
  3. Strikeouts will always annoy the heck out of me. No good ever comes from a strikeout. At least put the ball in play.
  4. Yes, this sounds very familiar indeed. Luckily, as the older sibling, what I lacked in size I made up for in speed and cunning. What that really means is that I made him take the dog out when we got off of the bus, so I got first dibs on whatever was left in the fridge.
  5. Ah, that's right. I forgot about Burdi and his TJ. Thanks for the correction.
  6. Burdi, Bard, and probably Reed should be on the horizon. Probably a bit too early to bring them up yet. That would be especially true of Burdi and Bard. I'd prefer them to get some AAA innings first. Even that is assuming they can stay healthy.
  7. You know, I've discovered that if you keep checking the contents of the fridge for a long enough period of time things will disappear, things will suddenly appear or things don't change at all. I think you need to study further Riverbrian.
  8. That's not true at all. Busenitz was just sent back down to make room for Pressly. Curtiss has also earned a call up as well, just to name a couple. There are options.
  9. I guess. Didn't they blow a lead in the 9th yesterday or Friday too? Not that I'm suggesting the sky is falling, but two large innings like that on that bullpen is noteworthy.
  10. If he's still giving up runs, credited to him or not, that isn't exactly something that is going to suddenly think he's reliable.
  11. What the hell happened to their bullpen?
  12. Like I said, thank God that Matt Belisle is here to save the day.
  13. Thank God that Matt Belisle is here to save the day.
  14. DON'T PUT IT OUT WITH YOUR BOOTS!!
  15. While true, it's not as though they did much to improve it in the offseason. They don't get a total pass on this staff.
  16. Too much beer, too much sun, too many years on the eyes aren't a good combination.
  17. I see where you're going with it, but I don't see how it gets you any additional benefit. You'd still have Mauer at a power hitting position and potentially worse defense. The solution would be to find a power hitting 3B and keep Mauer at 1B. Sano could still spell either corner in that case.
  18. Honest question...why? Good glove caliber 1B not enough?
  19. Yeah, if he's going to play that's what I'd rather see too. I'd still like Vargas to play most days though, so I've got a bit of a conundrum on my hands. I'm not sold on Vargas being an every day player yet, but I'm not convinced he's not. I'm also not convinced that Grossman is either. I know that I don't like seeing a glove on his hand though.
  20. I'll say this, it's at least fun to get to scoreboard watch and have it mean something for a change, even if it's only July. That's a step in the right direction.
  21. He's not a liability, which is what I was getting at.
  22. He's been solid enough at 3B that I'm not sure I'd call him one dimensional, but he's clearly a much stronger hitter. That might be semantics I guess.
  23. The depends really. It depends on the peaks and valleys. I'll take Sano, but Rosario drives me nuts. There's always a place for a steady guy that relies on solid fundamentals. You can't survive on a team full of them, but they can be fantastic roll players if you've got one or two.
