  1. I'm happy for Nick. He's had a rough couple of years, so it's nice to see him getting some playing time with the big league club. I'd like to see more of him and see what he can do!
  2. Sounds like he's playing in St. Paul again tonight. Can't be much longer though.
  3. Because he was on the Giants roster, not the Twins? ?
  4. $23/month is a non-starter. Maybe if it included all of the Bally networks, but I can't imagine that the leagues would go for that. And this is coming from a Hulu subscriber that has watched every other team in MLB multiple times and caught maybe two Twins games. I've been perfectly content with catching the random game or just listening on the radio. They're certainly not snaring me with that ridiculous price point.
  5. The issue that I have with a comeback is that the division doesn't really lend to it. The White Sox are in a position where they're the best team in the division and thus everyone else is worse. The Twins are in the polar opposite position. They're in the cellar and everyone else is better. The weakness of the bottom half might help bring the Twins out of the cellar if they started to play more capably, but that same weakness helps the Sox stay where they are. That said, I haven't examined the schedules to see who has more games against the bottom half. I had picked the White Sox to win the division before the season. Cleveland is playing a little better than I had anticipated. KC figured to be a "wild card" in the division and Detroit wasn't expected to be very good.
  6. I agree with all of this. I almost wonder if the early success, especially 2019, was harmful in the long term to the overall plan. That's not to say that success is bad, but perhaps it altered perceptions and expectations unrealistically. Particularly in the fanbase. That's not an excuse or letting them off the hook though. Adjustments can be made and plans can be altered to fit how things unfold, especially at the big league level. Expectations and perceptions should change over time. I think strides have been made in many areas, but I'm not sure that I'm convinced that there's light at the end of the tunnel yet. I'm patient with these types of things, I realize that they take time, but I was hoping/expecting to see a bit more by now, especially regarding the pitching. That's ultimately what has always held this team back.
  7. Let me know when that train stops at Scrub From Existence. That's probably when I'll hop on! ?
  8. My memory is a bit fuzzy myself, I can't quite Peg it...
  9. Your absence in game threads has made it much more difficult to steal your jokes.
  10. Any Major (League) Dude Will Tell You that the key to a successful season, is the perfect soundtrack. Better late than never!
  11. What a pleasant surprise to wake up to today!
  12. In fairness, I technically never started. As a Hulu subscriber, I haven't had the opportunity. I usually consume sports one of two ways. It's on TV muted and I have music playing or the volume is up on the TV or radio and it's background noise. That's not really changed. Even game attendance isn't an indicator in the age of COVID. Between that and other obligations, I haven't been able to attend a game yet. I will finally on Friday though.
  13. If you find a taker, no reason not to trade him. That goes with any expiring contract. bring up Gordon and give him the chance to show what he can do with consistent playing time. It'd be a nice reward for fighting through everything he's been through the last couple of years.
  14. What Kay is suggesting would have resulted in Cole not finishing the game and getting suspended. Whose point is proven by that? Thankfully, Cole was above that. As he should be. Cole won this "battle" the way it should have been, on the field within the rules of the game. This game went about how I expected it too, so I don't really have much to say about it. It's just the same story, different game.
  15. I'm guessing that Donaldson was hoping for a better showing this evening.
  16. I'm keeping score at home. That makes 3/5 of the rotation that is on the wrong side of that line, correct?
  17. O'Neill is actually a fairly good reference. I've had better days. This game isn't helping... ... though I fully expected that it wouldn't.
  18. This is going just about as I expected it to go. In this case, I'd prefer to have been wrong.
  19. Ok. And that is something that I should be embarrassed about? I was simply making a statement. Forgive me.
  20. And they're all above the Yankees in runs scored as well. My bad, I must have misread something somewhere.
  21. The point is that he's not nibbling. And he's got the stuff to do it. Unlike anyone in the Twins rotation.
  22. Compare that to the teams in the central and Baltimore. The lineup has still managed to put up a winning record in a stronger division. It's not the typical Yankees lineup, but it's still one of the more formidable lineups this team has faced.
