  1. So, the bats up until this afternoon were cold, starting pitching left much to be desired and the bullpen outside of Duffy was quite decent in my opinion. Some thoughts: 1) Please let Buxton get a full season in. I really think he could put up video game numbers. 2) They're taking decent at bats, but c'mon Kirilloff and Sano. I think they start to get some to fall in soon. 3) The change of scenery for Gary Sanchez may do him a world of good. (this has quite the potential to age poorly) 4) Rocco needs to find a way to get Arraez in the lineup every day. Though I realize there were two lefty SP for Seattle in the first three games. 5) Duran is the real deal. 6) May be a unpopular opinion, but not having a named closer, or at least a de facto one will be a good thing. (Duffy's outing notwithstanding) 7) Go Twins
  2. Twins MVP Byron Buxton Twins Top Pitcher Sonny Grey Twins Most Improved Gary Sanchez Twins Top Rookie Joe Ryan Gold Glove Winners Correa, Buxton Silver Slugger Winners Correa Twins Record 86-76 Place in Division 2nd AL Central First White Sox AL Central Second Twins AL Central Third Guardians AL Central Fourth Royals AL Central Fifth Tigers I'll also predict that my optimism is at a very high level and I may be influenced by my opening day rose colored glasses
  3. Sounds like when I tore my ACL. Had no pain, just instability in the leg. Especially moving laterally and twisting. The more medical experts can correct me, but I think you tend to get more pain with a ACL tear when the MCL and meniscus are involved. They call it the Unhappy Triad
  4. I'll echo Baseball > No Baseball. I like the 7 inning double headers when I thought I wouldn't. I'll always be a proponent of the DH in both leagues. Hopefully everything will continue through the next 6 weeks.
  5. Missed that last night. Although I do think that Bert shtick is tired, he's been apart of my summers for however many years its been. Feel like another part of my childhood is dying.
  6. If the restructuring is what gets us baseball within 8-10 weeks, I'm for it. I'd prefer this idea over the spring training facilities in Arizona and Florida. Plus I'd think this is a way for MLB to get the DH in both leagues moving forward. Baseball in any capacity > no baseball
  7. Wasnt he arrested or something right around the time of the induction ceremony? EDIT: Yeah, arrested for assault about a month before the ceremony http://www.startribune.com/knoblauch-charged-with-assault-twins-scrap-hall-of-fame-day/268495992/
  8. I find his near unanimous of 70 out of 71 voters for the Twins Hall of Fame more controversial than Jeter not being unanimous.
  9. I think the hold up was the 5th year option. Believe that came later. I think I remember reading that somewhere.
  10. I originally read this as a suggestion to move him to right field again and my eye started twitching. Glad I re-read that.
  11. How dare you not address him by his proper name. It's Twins Legend Jaime Garcia. That said, seems to be a decent, albeit incomplete flip.
  12. Depends on the price I suppose. 2/15 may be a little steep, unless it were to be back loaded a bit on the second year. I say he'd be a upgrade from the likes of Harper, albeit at a much bigger price tag. Having said all that, I think he's a good bounce back candidate. 2014-2017 he was a decent reliever even without his 2 extreme outliers of 2018 and 2019. ERA was 3.21, FIP 3.43 in those four seasons.
  13. Bird could be interesting if the dude could just. stay. healthy.
  14. I'll just say this. Watching Sano home run highlights is a delight.
  15. I'd say at minimum one pitcher from the top two tiers Strasburg and Cole obviously at the top of the wish list. Then go re-sign Odorizzi and Pineda. My rotation would look like this: 1) Cole/Strasburg 2) Berrios 3) Odorizzi 4) Pineda 5) Wheeler/Keuchel
  16. I do not think Eddie alone lands a #3-4. Pair him a top 5 prospect and a throw in, maybe. I'm not so sure trading Eddie would be a answer either. When healthy, (big when) a outfield of Rosario-Buxton-Kepler is as good as any outfield in the league. Having said all that, you gotta trade from depth to get a decent return. Gotta spend money to make money kind of thinking.
  17. See the issue I think is the Twins front office offers what the pitcher is worth. Look no further than Darvish, Yu. They offered him what he was worth, maybe more now that there is two seasons under the belt of that contract. With doing that and then getting mocked for "being in on" seemingly every big named free agent. Then coming up short is the Twins will need to overpay to get big names to come. For whatever reasons, payroll "restrictions" (which I don't think are much of a thing as they used to be), past culture (2016 and beyond excluded), weather, etc, is not landing the Twins the big fish. I hope this can change in this off season
