  1. Pitchers drafted & signed with 1.5 bWAR or more (2017-now) Guardians- Karinchak, Sandlin Rays-McClanahan, Joe Ryan Twins-Ober People can choose to put Ryan with the Rays or the Twins, since the Rays drafted him and he spent the majority of the minors there, that’s where I put him. So the Rays and Guardians have each developed exactly 1 pitcher each more than the Twins in the same time frame….with the Rays hitting a huge HR with McClanahan. The Twins don’t seem that far behind to me (as much as we all still want them to be better)! Pretty sure @Mike Sixel did some research in the off-season and I think he found that 90% of all teams have been bad at drafting pitching since 2017 so I don’t know why people keep thinking that the Twins are so far behind everyone else when they aren’t (again, this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t want them to be better than they have been).
  2. Agree, though the big need on this team right now is OF (I don’t care about handedness) so they nailed it!
  3. Since the Tigers are understandably in love with Langford, I’m hoping the Rangers don’t take Clark
  4. Here’s to hoping the Pirates and/or Rangers do something crazy. The order of players I want: Crews/Skenes/Langford (any), Clark, Jenkins/Lowder (toss up), Teel.
  5. My least favorite of the five, but I hope they take him if he’s what’s left. My preference is any of the top three and then I like Clark miles better than Jenkins.
  6. This is the one for me. I’m assuming Crews/Skenes/Langford will be gone, if they aren’t for some crazy reason take one of them. Clark>>>>Jenkins > Lowder > Teel in that order for me. I’m hoping the Rangers don’t take Clark, but all the mocks seem to be putting him to TX now.
  7. Lowder has grown on me. I still think they should take one of the top 5, but wouldn’t hate it if they picked Lowder.
  8. I have a hard time throwing in the towel at this very moment because the pitching staff is top five in MLB. At this specific point in time, I hope they are buyers, but unfortunately they need a lot which may make it impossible… They need two OF (if one is Wallner, that’s fine) They need a 1B. I’d love if Kirilloff would pick it up to where this isn’t a need. He’s heading in the wrong direction right now. 1-2 RP 2B/DH (this would all depend on Polanco and Buxton) Somehow, the Twins need a Shannon Stewart type jolt. Probably more than one…
  9. I’m late to this post, but my opinion is the Twins need 3-4 Arraez’ in order to make a difference with this offense. Would only one help? Sure, but it wouldn’t make that big of an impact. Arraez would get on base and then be left there because the next three guys would K or GIDP….that’s why they’d need way more than just one Arraez. I like Lopez, I wish he’d stop with the Radke inning, but I’ve been happy with him so far…even though he absolutely could be better. I’m with @Mike Sixel on this. I’d rather have Lopez. Because Lopez means we didn’t need another Bundy or anyone like him. I’m tired of going after guys like Bundy. I never want to see one of those types of pitchers again. I’m also not convinced that Varland or someone else comes up and does well. It’s a small sample size, so I’m not giving up on him yet, but he just hasn’t impressed me. He strikes out guys in the minors and then when he gets up to the majors, that drops pretty significantly. Is that a sign that he’s getting K’s down there that he will never get while being up? Maybe, didn’t do the research. I hope that’s not the case. I can’t think of one SP in the minors I would take over Lopez. Not Varland, not Festa, not Headrick, not SWR. And I’ve already said I don’t want any Bundy’s… As frustrating as this offense is, and it is insanely frustrating, I’ve very much enjoyed (for the most part) the starting pitching we’ve seen so far. I would do this trade again, as much as I like Arraez.
  10. My hope is Clark since Skenes is not happening. Seems to have a good hit tool and will definitely be a CF. I’d be okay with any of the top 5, though Jenkins is my least wanted of the five.
  11. Sure, that’s not a crazy take. The other poster was saying they expect Correa, and anyone getting paid as much as he is, to hit .300. That’s not realistic especially in today’s baseball, because most guys don’t or can’t…no matter what they’re making. It wouldn’t surprise me to see baseball move away from the three true outcomes because baseball changes all the time, but I don’t believe it will ever get back to the way it used to be. Pitches are better than they’ve ever been in just about every way.
  12. Because it’s not the baseball world we live in anymore. Like I told the other poster, it’s fine to want the players to be better…I want that to, but this is the reality of the game today. As of this moment, only 16 qualified hitters are hitting .300 or better. If you want to expect/demand someone hit .300, that’s your prerogative. Reality will be different.
  13. Urshela was not a qualified hitter, but Arraez was. It’s perfectly fine to expect more from players. I expect more from Correa than he’s done so far this year, but again, if you expect a .300 hitter than nearly every player in MLB will never be good enough for you.
  14. 11 qualified hitters hit .300 or better last year. Baseball has been going this direction for years now. It has become extremely unrealistic to expect anyone to hit .300.
  15. I sort of agree with the title but only because I’m not sure Miranda will ever be a good 3B. I think he’s a DH. I’m fine with him getting a shot though and Farmer/Lee/Lewis will be there if he fails.
  16. I’d say Henriquez and Sands should absolutely be moved to RP. I’m torn on Winder, but it would probably be for the best. Ober needs to remain a SP.
  17. Quote from a Twinsfest article (Dan Hayes-the athletic):
  18. Blyleven, Hawkins and Santana are usually at spring training, working with pitchers.
  19. I usually don’t have untouchable’s but Lee is mine. Prielipp could be too but that’s it. Hoping Lee is the Twins starting 3B for a long time.
  20. Don’t have a horse in this one but like Cannon or Cermak
