  1. I've been going back and forth on this. Finally just caught up on the thread and feel like I'm leaning towards trading him. The rotation next year will be Berrios, Odo if he's here, Pineda, and two of Gonsalves/Mejia/Littell/Romero. May maybe too, but I prefer him as a RP. Even if you add Gibson to that list, I'm not sure that's a rotation that can even compete for the WC. There are a bunch of teams ahead of them this year that would probably still be ahead of them next year, with or without Gibson. From what I recall, the free agent pitching market is not great. Expecting two of the prospects to hit the ground running plus a guy who's coming back from TJ...seems like a big uphill battle already. It feels like they're already out of the 2019 race. That sucks to think about. Wasting more of the years of the young players, some in part because they've stumbled themselves. It goes without saying, but it obviously depends on the return. If they can get Sheffield you say yes. I would have a hard time wanting to trade him if they'd be getting back a significantly lesser prospect than that.
  2. i do plan on watching that one!
  3. It probably was the environment, but it's too late to change that. The movie was already predictable so seeing it again and having an even worse opinion of it won't change that for me. A know a heck of a lot of people who thought of it as a jumping movie because of the supposed suspense. I'm a very, I guess you could call it, desensitized person, so it takes a lot for anything to affect me. Just was not suspenseful and completely predictable. I like movies where I can't call out what's going to happen next for every single scene. I was hoping everyone would die about 30 minutes into the movie. Get Out felt more suspenseful to me and was a good movie too.
  4. I felt zero suspense which is what the problem was. It wasn't suspenseful at all to me. It may have been the drive-in effect, I'm not really sure. I know a few people who said they jumped several times when they watched it. Didn't happen to me at all especially in that movie when you always know it's coming. That's why, for me, it was completely overrated. I felt zero.
  5. I didn't have high expectations of A Quite Place so take my next words however you like... I saw it at a drive-in and it was not scary/thrilling at all. Since my expectations were low, I'm not sure that was the problem but maybe it was. I think watching it on DVD will have the same effect. It might be better to try to see it in a cheap theater because I think that might make the movie better (big dark room, big screen). I thought it was overrated.
  6. Well, he was the next bat I wanted but I liked Turang, Kowar and Rocker better...
  7. Turang is still the guy I want. I'd be okay with a few others too, like Kowar or Rocker.
  8. I know I wanted Gore or Wright and didn't think Lewis had enough bat. Still wouldn't mind having Gore, but can't complain about Lewis.
  9. I'm hoping a decent HS position player is there to take. I like Brice Turang, but not sure he makes it that far.
  10. Not surprised. As I posted when this first happened, the exact same thing happened to Morneau in CO. Both dove for a ball. Both strained their neck. Both had concussion like symptoms. Morneau was out 3-4 months. If Mauer is back before August/September, I'd be surprised. I was for going year to year with Mauer until this happened. At this point he needs to retire for himself and his family.
  11. NSFW means exactly what you said "not suitable/safe for work". It means he was dirty/filthy etc. in baseball terms. You want all your pitchers to be NSFW. It's a very good thing.
  12. Especially since the owner probably has many restrictions on what can be done since he only wants tweaks.
  13. Seems like an appropriate time to say ROFLMAO.
  14. Same thing happened to Morneau and it took him almost four months to return so I don't expect him back anytime soon. But hopefully I'm wrong. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/morneau-rockies-lineup-neck-strain-1.3216868
  15. I've been rooting for them since the Wild were out. I really hated when the Wild traded Tuch.
  16. Lynn to BP, get rid of Hughes. That's how I see it at this moment. Doubt my feeling will change in a few weeks.
  17. He's still too up and down for me. The last 11 games (14 day split) were good, but then the last 4 (7 day split) have been bad. Obviously these are small sample sizes to look at but LoMo's numbers for both splits are miles better. Only comparing because they both started badly. I'm still on the "done with him train" until he starts being what we're used to seeing on a way more consistent basis. If he can't do that then he has no value to the team because he already shouldn't be playing defense.
  18. i don't think "figure it out" is the right phrase for it because I would hope they aren't that dumb. We all know Dozier prefers to lead off/bat 1. And I could swear Joe at minimum has said in the past that he prefers to hit third (it was many years ago as he hits two mostly now) or doesn't like to hit lead off but I can't find anything to back that up. I could be misremembering. Anyway, if I'm not wrong, it's more like Molitor is letting a few players control his lineup card over what makes sense. And it wouldn't surprise me if Molitor went with a vets preference over what makes sense. That's Molitor's thing.
  19. Last 446 PA: .232/.336/.369 with little to no defense. Yeah, I'm good with going to Wade or someone else. Lamarre should already be out there over him though that's not happening. Lamarre's defense, though he doesn't seem to know what a cutoff man is, has been better (eye test only). And even though he's only hit singles so far he's also shown more offensively in a smaller sample size.
  20. He doesn't need to be on the 40 if he's back with the Twins. He only needs to be on the 25/40 for other teams per rule 5 rules.
  21. I would like to like this 694 times.
  22. Correction, that would be old Adam Dunn. Adam Dunn never stuck out above 30% until he was 30 or 31. So he's old Adam Dunn but with more power.
  23. Slightly better than the Twins postseason win percentage since 2002. Not good.
