  1. Honoring Ryan Costello. Twins minor leaguer who passed away.
  2. Way to limit the damage Jose. Get the bats back up there and add on!
  3. Actually LF had graded out as his best position over the last few years. Kepler in CF, slide Rosario and his strong arm to RF and put Marwin in LF. Obviously not ideal, but manageable.
  4. ....are you serious? You are never going to go to Minneapolis again?
  5. No, it is just a case of you undervaluing advanced statistics and using traditional stats that support the narrative that you want to be true. .276/32/110 is not a bad season, but when that comes with a .300 on base percentage in an era of inflated offense those traditional stats carry less weight.
  6. He only played 18 innings at 3rd last year and didn't play any third after being promoted to Pensacola. He played the majority of his innings at 2nd with some time in LF as well.
  7. He has tons of power though, so that's not even a remotely accurate portrayal of his skillset.
  8. We are talking about money relative to production, not simply a lump sum of money. In that regard Max was underpaid.
  9. I'd assume it would be due to positional difference.
  10. One was drafted 28th overall and threw 372.2 innings in 3+ minor league seasons. He threw more innings in the minors than the bigs in 2018. Has one real major league season under his belt. The other was a 5th round pick who has thrown 227.2 innings in 4 minor league seasons. He's 21. If he makes the roster next year at 22 I think we will be just fine.
  11. Oh man, another "missed all of Spring Training and then was horrible" Twins signing.
  12. This whole thread just seems like a lot of pearl clutching to me.
  13. I mean it's not like one season indicates that the prior season was a fluke. He tore up a pitcher friendly league at 21 after missing a full year. He battled through a wrist injury last year and hit .311 with 5 HR and a .851 OPS in 114 PA in August. Obviously unless the MLB scouts are seeing something in his swing, I don't think it will impact how he is viewed that much. Injuries obviously may be a concern, but I think the bat is real. Hopefully he has a year more like 2018. We will see.
  14. Who are they going to replace him with? He still has the most potential of any bat in our system at the major league level right now and he has shown it. Like bighat said earlier, we have the offense right now to be able to do this. Let him get comfortable and spend some time around Cruz and with the major league staff.
  15. So the Houston game means nothing? The process and results are the same.
  16. Gleeman just tweeted recently that Rosario has the worst OBP of any left fielder with at least 1,000 plate appearances since 1900.
  17. Yeah, not sure who it was but someone tweeted that he added roughly 5 mph to his fastball from last year.
  18. Not sure I would describe Hicks as "oozing talent." He is 27 years old and is having a little success over 33 at bats. Let's not overreact here. We have seen him get hot before only to come crashing back down to earth.
  19. Just keep in mind that at that point he will be 36 years old.
  20. He definitely schedules his alloted vacation time around certain trips in the team schedule.
