  1. I still like next year as the year to start pushing all the chips in. We'll enter the off-season with 6-7 top 100 prospects and hopefully better clarify on payroll (could also be reduced again). We'll have Lopez, Ober, and Ryan as our big 3. Now we find out what have in SWR, Festa, Varland, Matthews, and Paddack (I have confidence in him next year with a rested arm). We can shop around in the off-season and pay less of a premium on a solid controllable starter. The Twins future is bright and we have alot of controllable big leaguers and a ton of promising prospects. FO has done a hell of a job the past few years!
  2. The plus side is that the Guards and Royals shipped out alot of prospects while we gave away essentially none. This is one of my favorite Twins rosters in my life time. Besides not having a solid lefty reliever, the roster is setup for a decent playoff run. 3 borderline(ish) game 1 starters and a mash up 4th game of SWR/Varland/Festa can carry you a decent ways. I'll save my Ownership rage if/when they cut payroll again next year after another solid playoff run.
  3. He's started 19/21 games? Averaging almost 5 innings a game.
  4. I am hoping the Twins see something in him to increase the velocity a bit and get back to his old strikeout numbers. Could also be a 1 for 1 replacement for Staumont if something is up with him.
  5. I like this. Let's give him another shot and see what he has. Could throw a couple good games for us or allow SWR/Paddack some rest leading up to the playoffs
  6. Im being a little pessimistic after that beating last night. Curious to know how the FO feels about the rotation and bullpen going into the playoffs. I like the idea of our 4th playoff starter being a combination of SWR/Festa/Paddack/Varland instead of a pricey rental.
  7. I can't tell if this is a good or bad outcome for the deadline tomorrow..
  8. I like the analysis. Julien is probably better off spending the rest of the year in AAA. His confidence seems shot and needs a long reset. Lee, it wouldn't hurt at all for a few weeks down as well to work on some of his recent struggles and come back for a playoff run. Time for the twins to get a big left handed relief pitcher thats controllable for a few years.
  9. I've always been a huge Kiriloff fan (along with every other twins player) but trading him right now seems like a mistake. I also don't want to see the anti-falvey comments a year or two from now when he gets healthy and consistent and starts mashing like he's supposed to. Unless he's a legit trade asset for a pitcher with control then hold on to him and give one last shot next year.
  10. Its fun to look back at posts from Blue Jay's fans that said they absolutely fleeced us on that trade.
  11. Just absolutely sucks to see Julien struggle this badly. I could watch that dude swing at pitches all day everyday. Lets hope he gets this figured out by September/next year
  12. Huge win! This will be a big test for SWR to see what he's made of. Anything better than 5ip 3er would shoot me out of bed tomorrow morning.
  13. I agree. Keep the players healthy and rested over the next month or so but play them against the Guards, Royals, and a few other teams that are hanging around the AL playoff spots.
  14. Whats the deal with the Twins and Astros? Been some plunkings the past few games on both ends
  15. I feel like ABW would be great trade bait to package around and get a good starting catcher or a decent starting pitcher
